It's not the first time I've heard the rumour that Zagar's not being paid. However, the Hammarby website's take on it is that they don't want to have to pay his travel costs all the time Nicholls and Kylmakorpi aren't riding (basically when they know they have little chance of winning.) Zagar will probably fall foul of the "boy who cried wolf" syndrome too, given his past history.
Hammarby have also cancelled their last two meetings - once because of rain, once because of track conditions. Their fans aren't happy with the Nicholls situation (I personally can't understand what's going on, but it looks like Hammarby are in big trouble.) I guess it's hard for Erik to comment on, seeing as he does their website.
However, it's not just Sweden where there are problems. Riders arent being paid in Poland either, and teams have been trying to cut costs for some time. Despite everyone's assurances that Poland is the place that pays, I'm not entirely convinced.

Clubs in the Ekstraliga have to prove that they are debt-free before being granted a licence for the following season, so they must eventually cough over the readies.

Riders arent being paid in Poland either Polish speedway started getting into financial difficulties when the authorities started questioning where all the money came from. In Sweden, finances are probably more above board, but clubs still suffer from cashflow crisises all the same.

Well it is hard to comment on, because there is the truth and then there's the official truth about what's going on.
Obviously Hammarby are struggling to pay riders in time, but that is really nothing new. The difference this time around is the rumour that we will not be around for much longer which has led to riders demanding to be payed in advance, withholding their services etc. You would not believe the level of incompetence from certain leading figures within the club in tackling this situation if I told you.
However, the two postponed meetings had nothing dodgy about them. And the plan to reschedule the Rospiggarna meeting for Monday the 18th have now also been scrapped because the Environment Committee of Stockholm municipality did not allow Hammarby to ride both on Monday and Tuesday (the Dackarna meeting is still on as scheduled of course).
Anyway, things are now looking a little brighter because our mad Godfather has had another one of his unpredictable changes of heart and decided he wants to solve the situation and pay up, instead of just screaming in anger at those two who stayed at home and would not come on blind faith and promises only. So don't be surprised if both Nicholls and Zagar rides v Dackarna on Tuesday.
EDIT: Sorry I mean v INDIANERNA on Tuesday.
