As requested by young Hatcham. Incidentally it's dead easy to start a poll, Hatcham, I'm no technical whizz and I can do it in 30 seconds.

I can't vote, as I'd say both. In fact, I'd say most, if not all, forms of motorsport are both team and individual sports.

It's mainly an individual sport, sadly. Because it's the team aspects I for one love most. But I have to vote for individual.

With Iversen being named Panthers captain it got me thinking about this because I don't think that a captain is needed anyway. All you need is a competent respected team manager because for the vast majority of the time riders are only thinking of themselves and earning for themselves and/or their family. I'm not sure that outside of the Americans (surprising considering their lack of team ethic when it's going tits up in the Ryder Cup) speedway riders think team too much when the pressure's on.

I don't think that a captain is needed anyway. In some sports such as cricket, the captain plays a hugely important role, but in others like football and speedway I think it's more honorary. I suppose it should be someone who can rabble rouse at times, but I agree this role could just as well be done by the team manager in the speedway.

I chose to vote it an "individual sport", because it really is in my mind.
Despite having watched mainly team racing over the recent years here in the UK, I see the sport as one for individuals.
When you see team racing done at it's best, it's an absolute joy to watch, but most team matches are just individuals racking up points on behalf of their team.
There is no way for a team in speedway to put up a "defensive" performance like you can in other sports, it's all about how the individuals perform collectively as a "team".
We have all seen the huge shocks in football cup matches, the Bournemouth v Man Utd, or the Rangers clash of Berwick v Glasgow, and that could never, ever happen in speedway because there is no way that the team can combine to shut out opposing stars without some serious talent in speedway!

It is an individual sport the majority of riders have no real passion for there club other than that pay check they get from them
Half of them don't even know the score in a meeting

They don't know what offensive is , that's there problem on that forum a shower of over reactive drama queens
They seem to be unable to deal with the idea that some times in life people will have an opinion different from there own

Join the club; me and schumi are banned by the potato brains also. You seem to have suffered the same fate as me. All I did was give opinions and have abuse hurled at me, but since the abusers out-number the abused, it's easier to fall in with the crowd. Anyone looking objectively at my posts would see that I was more abused than abuser. They're curious folk down on Teesside - minimal sense of humour and a huge inferiority complex that they mask with aggression. They do so long to be considered the equal of the other great centres of the North East (Newcastle and Sunderland), but no one really takes them seriously. And that hurts. Still, we'll see what they make of things when the Walmington-on-Sea Bears take to the track.

I am opinionated I know that, some times I post in jest and banter, does any one on the forum not do that ?
I thought it was a place for opinion what ever that may be
I have no reason or need to be verbally abusive to another poster I either agree or dis agree with there opinion and that is it

I don't have a clue , if they are banning members for posting about Stoneys weight then the majority of EL posters would be banned
