Well, it looks like Swale Borough Council have ignored their Planning Officers' advice and given the go ahead for Speedway to be introduced to Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne.
A 2/3 majority voted to allow speedway for a 12 month period, which isn't ideal, but hopefully will be looked upon as a trial period and then a extension will be given.
With the bad news surrounding Newport, Reading, Exeter, Berwick, Oxford and Redcar recently, this is certainly a boost to morale and a return to Kent for professional speedway looks like it could be only a matter of months away, all being well.
