So, as with the Mutt's Nuts, we switch to fortnightly for the long, cold, dark, barren, miserable, frostbitten winter months. And I believe Mimi was volunteered (by Kev H) to pick this fortnight's winner. So who will succeed the five people that Big Dave awarded last week's FOTW to. Nominate away...

I would like to nominate Sydney & London Properties Ltd for raising the ground rent at The Hayley Stadium, Newport from £34,000 to £87,480 p.a.
There was a buyer in place who had big ideas for the re-introduction of speedway in Newport, but this ridiculous rent hike has killed off any chance of the Wasps returning.

£87.48? I'll go and withdraw £100 from the bank - and then buy Kev a Lukas Dryml keyring with the change.

I nominate BSI Speedway for once again disgracing and discrediting the world championship with their nominations for 2009. Chris Harris, they're having a laugh, surely? Well, if they aren't, I will be next season, watching him humiliated every couple of weeks.

Another vote for BSI for putting Chris Harris back into the GP. Jarek Hampel has been robbed.

Personally I'm just grateful that we've got Harris and not bloody Dryml!!! Well Lukas has about as much claim on a 2009 spot as charity case Chris Harris. In fact, more so, since he qualified for the 2008 series, whereas Chris Harris didn't. Lukas will be back in 2010 - on MERIT. ;D

A week in and not much for me to choose from. Just 3 nominations, Sydney & London Properties Ltd and the BSI. As well as my nomination for last weeks speedway star for giving the relegation play-off, craven shield and under 18 championship space on the front cover. Then hiding Eastbourne's great KOC win on page 10. Although, that is only a little nomination because they did give us a fantastic back page poster.
So come on, there must be still be flapperjacks out there even though the season has ended.

Don't you worry, mimi. After all, the BSPA AGM is this coming week, so that should generate a flapperjack or two, or three, or four, or twenty.

Kev - well, I'm planning to go to Sweden again next year (I thought it was a most enjoyable week, as don't tell Schumi but Swedish league speedway is very enjoyable), so I'll buy you a pint to consol you over the fact that Lukas has qualified/ is well on his way towards qualification by that point.

And a rum and coke for the lady please, Genghis My nomination for this week must go to the Ipswich footballer, David Norris, for his disgusting gesture to the drink driver who killed two boys in June
