And so the very nearly all conquering Monarchs close their season with a visit from their nearest and not so dearest neighbours from the west on Halloween for the second leg of the Heathen Cup. The Monarchs won the first leg by a single point at the Messiahdome a few weeks ago, but it looks like the "unwritten rules" of this competition could be stretched a little by the Tigers with their team, which is proposed to contain the following:
James "Heathen No 1" Grieves Michal "mad, mental" Makovsky Charles "where's my older brother" Wright Robert "Elite League" Ksiezak..R/R Trent Leverington Lee "funky chicken" Dicken Adam McKinna
No news on the Edinburgh team, as yet, but one would imagine it'll contain the usual suspects, although a guest will be needed for Derek "Desperate Deek" Sneddon and possibly a guest for Thomas H Jonasson, although R/R would seem more likely.

That's a Glasgow select! I agree with Merlin (who posted on the Chatzone) that asking Mark Lemon to replace THJ for the night would have been a great gesture too then we could have shown him our appreciation of the times he guested for us. To be honest I am fed up with the Scottish Cup meetings. The make up of the teams can be really far removed from the actual team they are supposed to be so it loses so much credibility. It's not too bad when one or two riders are missing through injury but this "Glasgow" team takes the proverbial even if both promotions agreed to it. Does anyone know why apart from Josh and Robert, Glasgow's riders have gone home already?

Does anyone know why apart from Josh and Robert, Glasgow's riders have gone home already? It's is a complete nonsense , and like the Edinburgh team of a couple of years ago - is nothing more than a PL select side . Was talking to Shane at Glasgow on Sunday and he explained that he'd arranged a small family holiday before he knew this meeting had been re-arranged ( thought Halloween was a safe bet that the season would be over ) and he was given the all-clear to miss this nonsense of a fixture . Grievsy will be an able replacement . Mitchell went back home on Tuesday and the two Danish lads have packed up for the season . I'm in end of season mode myself - doesn't seem right having a meeting after the end-of-season dance . Standing freezing my ass off on the grassy slopes of the Armadale 1st bend in the dead of Winter , watching the Monarchs select against the PL allstars , doesn't really appeal much .

Game over by Heat 3, The Tigers management had high hopes about the team, but Dickson slipped away into the night having lost all 8 derby matches this season.
Grieves is no longer a track expert as he clearly has troubles on turns 3/4 if he has to turn it tight.
