Just read this on BSF... www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=44878&hl=Can anyone tell me who Phil Morris is. At first, reading his posts, thought he could be a mechanic or something. Then I Googled him and it mentioned Reading and Birmingham Speedway. Am I right in presuming he is/was a rider....? I hope I don't make myself look stupid asking this, but I am just curious (and being relatively new to speedway...)... Would have asked on the BSF, but have already been called a PRATT once today.....

Are you joking? Phil has been a rider for quite a few years, most recently with Newport and Birmingham. I am however amazed you don't have a clue who Wales' number 1 rider was.

I was just going to send this to Sube, so you've saved me a job. Phil did an interview for us, Zonks - check it out.
Phil's posted:
Hi all.
Yes i have made it onto WWTBAM at the end of the month!!!!
or at least to the fastest finger first part? so hopefully i get to the chair?
Anyway the reason I'm putting this message on here is for a Phone a Friend.
each player needs 5 PAF and i have 4 very good ones lined up covering many different subjects
I NEED 1 MORE
If anyone thinks they have very good GK, a few good strong subjects and would be up for being one of my PAF then get back to me letting me know what subjects your ace at?
I'm not going to tell people what subjects i have covered with my 4 PAF and what I'm looking for:)
Of course if i did use you as a PAF then there would be a cash reward, if helped out with correct answer.
Look forward to seeing what you have to offer.
Cheers Phil

I have only been following speedway since August 2006... Can't be expected to know every speedway rider in that short time...... I am learning every day though....

I have only been following speedway since August 2006... Pot hunter!!! Little history lesson for you then Zonkers. Phil signed for Reading & made his debut a few days after his 16th birthday in 1991, spent many years riding for the Racers and 16 years in total on the Racers books before being sold to Birmingham this season. Has also ridden for Newport, Stoke, Birmingham & Newcastle in the PL and has doubled up with Poole, Lakeside & last season Belle Vue in the EL. Bit of a hairum scarum type rider in his younger days and has seemed to have been injury prone thoughout his career - not always speedway related though. Loved by Swindon fans. As Mildy pointed out he is and has been the undisputed Welsh No.1 for the past 17 years and in the past couple of years has appeared on numerous TV game shows, don't think WWTBAM will be his last non-speedway tv appearance either. Edit: Forgot to add that his nickname & forum name "Wizzer" stems from Clive Fisher christening him the Welsh Wizzard during his early days as a Racer.
