This seems to have many parallels with the recent campaign to get Cradley back on track. Mainly local residents concerns over noise (there is a misconception that the bikes are as loud as 50 years ago), litter (may have some grounding here but dependent on location) and traffic congestion (on one night a week, with the best will in the world there aren't going to be 10,000 cars in and out of the place). Residents were in our case willing to throw accustaions of all day riding, 7 days a week and destruction of land to back up their case. The trouble with this is that it is very easy for the general public to believe unless there is a strong fight from the pro speedway camp. It turned out to be academic in our case as Dudley Council decided they wanted tens of thousands of pounds before they would even consider planning appliactions etc
Good luck to the Bodmin group, I hope you have a successful hearing

Just a reminder to everyone to keep their fingers crossed tomorrow, as Bodmins' Planning Application is being heard.
