They all do it but should we have to put up with it? No not the shape, size or any of the other nonsense that sets the abuse flying on BSF but the actual surface. Lets take the Elite League playoffs. At Lakeside the track had little dirt and as a consequence gating was paramount. Last night at Poole just one racing line was available, charge into the first bend to the dirt line wide on the fence and cling on for grim death, even a Poole rider said it was " a bit scary" Is it not time that all tracks were made [admit I don't know how] to produce an even surfaced track providing as many racing lines as possible and not just to suit the home team etc. As the people paying aren't we entitled to see two sides race each other on as even a track as possible. Is it to much to hope, I expect so, they manage it in Poland

I think it was Chris Holder and I didn't think he understood the meaning of "scary". This practice of having just one racing line out by the fence is something Hans Andersen raised in his interview with us last winter.

Playing Devil's advocate here, from a home team's perspective in a play off semi-final they are going to do all that they can to advance. After all, they have gained that advantage by finishing in the top 2 after a season of league racing, surely? As the clamour for honours intensifies there is unlikely to be many promoters looking to give an away team a sniff of victory when a big advantage can be gained by setting the track up so that it takes visitors a couple of races to get their setup correct.
Of course, offset against this is the many fans who will stay away if there are continual borefest big home vistories. So I guess it comes down to whether fans and promoters value success or good racing, if the two are indeed mutually exclusive.
