What a load of old spin twaddle!!! If the 'big news' is indeed that Poole will run a meeting at New Year, my only response would be 'is that all!'.

Utter bollocks. Poole sent in the application in July. But that date is imaterial as other promotions could also submit until the 30th September. But none of them bothered and as Poole were the only promotion to bother, they got the meeting. A few dickheads from newport are giving it large and basically making up crap about Stone still being warm in his grave etc to basically incite. You really are something else, aren't you? You crawl up your promoters arse and believe everything he tells you. You may statements on his behalf and you aren't even officially connected to the club. He's just making a fool of you to get you to do all his dirty work. A tender for the NYC has never gone out from the BSPA at any time in the past, but what has happened here is that Ford took advantage of Newport's situation and put in a proposal to host the meeting 3 days after Tim died. Nobody else dared take up the chance of hosting this meeting, because nobody else had the sheer indignity to host it considering Newport's sad situation. A new owner and promoter is being put in place at Newport and he has stated he'd like to run the NYC at it's rightful home. Of course he didn't start making arrangments to host it as up until the past couple of weeks he wasn't in a position to do so. In the meantime Ford had picked a dead man's pockets and done what he did to his advantage. No this rant and displeasure of the situation from me hasn't come from being jealous of Poole's success. I like Poole, it is a well run club with a good set of people behind the scenes and an excellent promoter. The reason people hate Poole is because of people like yourself. YOU are giving your club a bad name and it's about time someone put you in you place. Totally correct, but it will be too much for him to take on board. There are some lovely fans down in Poole, some of which I class as friends, but they are the first to admit they often cringe when they read comments from him. I think it's only recently that Matt Ford has also begun to realise the damage this man is doing to his business.

hahaha still sprouting the same out shite you were a year ago.
Let me tel you I am correct in this and all this bullshit about Matt Ford graverobbing is a pile of crap. I know for a fact he didn't apply to run the meeting until mid summer, and there was no rush anyway as a deadline had been set for September 30th. No other club showed an interest.
Personally, because of all the rubbish sprouted by a few Newport fans, i hope the meeting is now passed around from club to club. I don't see any reason whatsoever that newport should have it back until its their turn again. And that's my opinion, no one elses.
And If you think for one second that Matt thinks I am damaging his business, you really are living in cloud cuckoo land.

How do you know what you are saying is fact, unless it was you that actually put the application in? All you have to go on is what SOMEONE TOLD YOU, just the same as what everyone else is quoting what they were told. We all think we're right, but sometimes we're wrong. Maybe in this case YOU ARE WRONG.

Well your constant posts bigging up the 1st meeting of the season at Poole, with the get there early, the entrance que is expected to reach back to Boscombe etc, put me off attending. Over hype of anything has that affect on me and lets face it Steve you do believe the hype.

Step forward Steven S Shovlar, the man who has almost single handedly made Poole the most unpopular team in the country, thus damaging Cecil's business without a doubt.

Well, it looks like young Cecil has dropped another bollock according to the Poole web site:-
Poole Speedway will open its doors a few months earlier than normal in 2009 with the New Year Classic meeting being held at Wimborne Road on Sunday January 4th. "Unfortunately, due to the restrictions on work permits my original wish for a Champion of Champions event meeting will not be logistically attainable but nevertheless it is our intention to make this a highly entertaining meeting and one that any of the 16 riders will have a chance of winning.

I have never attended the NYC, but I was under the impression it was for British based riders to have a spot of racing in the close season???, and not yet another non-starter "bigged up event" . Still he shouldn't have any problems getting 16 riders, because as we ALL know, all riders want to ride at Poole
