FP's probably going to Poland for the GP so they've swopped dates quickly to p*ss him off.

Just that they now have a free Saturday this weekend, so thought they might as well bring it forward. I am now doing a rain dance in the hope it will have to be resceduled for the original date !

I had a chat with uncle Len on Saturday after the KL meeting and he told me that the 25th clashes with the World Conker Championships at Ashton Nr Oundle.. and he was prudent enough to realise as clash of interests for the majority of the Hertfordshire speedway fan base! So it's a win win for people called Zonkers and those who like Conkers!

This Saturday at Rye: Ace of Herts Finale
Following the original announcement during Saturday’s match against King’s Lynn, the Rye House promotion has reviewed its options in terms of suitable opposition and decided NOT to schedule a meeting at Hoddesdon on October 25th. This Saturday’s (October 18th) Ace of Herts individual championship will therefore be the club’s 2008 season finale.
Tommy Allen will defend the title he won last year in the big individual season regular at Rye House. The Tommy Gun will face stiff opposition from the rest of the Silver Ski Rockets, while the twelve man field will also include Elite League Coventry star and international Lion Olli Allen and Stuart Robson, who has followed up his racing comeback in the Chris Neath Testimonial meeting by posting two race wins and eight points in Saturday’s Neil Collins Farewell at Stoke. Invitations have also gone out to, amongst others, former Rocket Danny King and Reading’s Ulrich Ostergaard, who is 3rd in this year’s national Premier League averages.
The racing will be followed by a 20 minute long giant firework display, which has become a part of the end-of-season tradition at Rye. The 2008 Mr Rocket and Mr Cobra awards will also be presented in the bar afterwards, as the team members say their farewells to the campaign.

Semi-Final 2: Howe, Bridger, Bowen, Sundstrom 61.9 Line-up: Bridger, Howe, Sundstrom, Bowen Howe and Bridger really going at it first 2 laps Bowen joined the party on 3rd lap but couldnt get passed Sundstraom tailed off. GRAND-FINAL: Howe, Bridger, Olly, Mear 61.7 Line-up: O Allen, Mear, Howe, Bridger Big crash between Mear and Howe bend 3 lap 1. Mear excluded. Both riders up and walking back to pits. Ref changes mind Mear back in. Howe Passed Olly backstraight lap 1 and that was that. Quite a good meeting this, pity that there was no Danny King , Eddy Kennett or Ulrich Ostergaard. The cubs were distraught when Tai was forced to retire after a couple of crashes.. Bruised leg - so hopefully will be okay for GB U18's . Met Michael Lee who came over and said hello as I was wearing my Panthers Jacket.. Really nice bloke, Chatted about the injuries to Danny and Tai.. The Cubs gots his autograph and he was very humble about being reminded of being the 1980 World Speedway Champion.
