I'd like to nominate people who cut and paste from websites or forums without saying where it came from.
(I may have done it myself very occasionally with small quotes but as a general rule I link or credit it, it's ignorant to do otherwise isn't it?)

The prizes are worst than bullseye . Agreed. And to his credit, this was an issue raised by Matt Ford earlier. It is time these events were consigned to the history books.

It's hard to know what the riders want! Obviously not events like this, although some riders of note still give all in this meeting: Jason Crump won this year, while Nicki P was winner last year. It seems to be "lower tier" riders who take the piss. But the whole raison d'etre of the ELRC has gone. It used to have significance at a time when a number of top quality riders missed out on the world final due to a "quota" of five continental no-hopers being around. But that was also a time when Britain was essentially the only credible major league. Times have changed, time to change with them.

Isle of Wight for refusing to race on Saturday Night, meaning that Davie Meldrums Milestone Meeting has had to be rescheduled as IoW whant to race that day While it is unfortunate that Meldrum's meeting has had to be moved, I can't really blame the Isle of Wight. They were only confirmed as semi-finalists last night, so to expect them to be ready to go a couple of days later is unrealistic. I think Redcar promoter Glyn Taylor is right when he expressed his concerns about the planning for the Young Shield. It looks like being an almighty struggle for clubs to fit their remaining fixtures in due to the cut-off date being so late. Look at Edinburgh, they potentially have the play-off finals to arrange and then a play-off against an Elite League club. So, potentially, do Rye House or King's Lynn and if their meeting tomorrow doesn't take place, it could be chaos.

I would like to nominate Scott Nicholls for yet another non-appearance in a BSPA shared meeting. It was mentioned in the Speedway Star that Nicholls said he could make it once other possible commitments cleared up. He contacted Eastbourne to say he was available and Hagon has a matter of principle kept the two riders he selected for the original event. It's an event which needs killing off anyway. These type of events just don't work at a top level anymore. Maybe when British Speedway was a riders top living and these type of meetings offered another pay-day, it was more than worth it. But not anymore - Pairs or Riders Championship. Might aswell make some 'Reserve Championship' or something along those lines for all it's worth, we're all mugs being Speedway fans, so we'd still watch it. Or maybe just having something like the Poles do in the form of their 'Golden, Silver and Bronze helmets'.

Still not relevant excuse however. Would he have had probelms getting his engines from Czech to Brum to Germany if he was in the Golden Helmet maybe?!? You can only think for Golden Helmet, Brum and Germany used his best bikes. Or maybe not.
