From Planet F1: The pitstop light system which gave Ferrari all sorts of headaches during the 2008 Championship will be back in action this season. Felipe Massa's hopes of winning World Championship took a massive blow at the Singapore Grand Prix when the controversial system released him from his pitstop while the fuel hose was still attached. The Ferrari mechanics became the laughing stock on the paddock after they were forced to dash down the pitlane to detach the hose from the Brazilian's car. Massa, who appeared to be on course for victory in F1's first-ever night GP, eventually finished the race in 13th place. The Scuderia decided to "simplify" things after the debacle and switched to the traditional lollipop system for the final three races of the season. However, after conducting a full investigation into the Singapore incident, the Maranello squad will revert back to the light system this season. "We can confirm our plan is to use the pit light system again. We will test the modifications soon and then see how we progress from there," a Ferrari spokesperson told Autosport. Ferrari team manager Luca Baldisserri told the Italian newspaper La Stampa: "We've analysed the mistakes made in 2008 and we've improved the system. An electronic programme will prevent the car from leaving when the fuel hose is still attached."

Brilliant Looking forward to more comedy moments from Ferrari in 2009 - it's really a different team since the professional touch brought in by Brawn, Todt & Schumacher departed.
