An excerpt from Young Stanley's programme notes from 3rd September........ ..........it's only right that we put you, our faithful fans, in the picture. Speedway is a vulnerable sport at any venue, as history has shown repeatedly. Is there any one of us here that hasn't lost 'their' club? The Rockets? The Hawks? The Dons? The Kestrels? (He omitted The Crusaders, but I'll forgive him as he's a good 'un) The list goes on. Most Clubs operate on little more than a 12 month rolling stadium agreement. Situated on some of the most valuable land in Europe, The Arena will inevitably move on some day - but not yet, and not yet by a long way, and Stan and Cookie will be here every step of the way - and because it's not yet, we're here to confirm that not only are we here next season, we have already signed a couple of riders, and in the race programme this Friday, we will be announcing 2009 season ticket prices. Great news for British Speedway, and I think it also pisses on a few internet rumours.

And for anyone too impatient to wait until Friday, season ticket prices are now on their website: www.lakesidehammers.com
