Well it appears we must have had dispensation as Bomber and Davey Watt are guesting for us tomorrow night. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Taken from the Ipswich website: >> Latest news | 24.09.08 The "Evening Star" Witches management have moved quickly to replace the absent Jarek Hampel for tomorrow's matches with Poole and Coventry. Poole's Davey Watt will guest for the Witches in their match with Coventry whilst Coventry's Chris Harris will guest for the Witches against the Pirates.

If it is a "rule book in the bin" situation, then the Louis' are hypocrites after the way they've bellyached over the Parsons affair.

I'm going to have great fun tomorrow.
To cut a long story short, my brother in law and his wife are coming to Foxhall to watch Speedway for the first time.
I've probably now got to explain why a rider who rode for us in the first match is now riding against us in the second and vice versa!
I'll have to resort to a bit of "baffle brains with bullshit".

And now this:
Taken from Bees Web site
THE Buildbase Bees have suffered a blow ahead of Thursday's trip to Ipswich with the news that No.1 Hans Andersen has been ruled out of the match due to illness. The club are working on bringing in a guest replacement.

And it's Bjarne Pedersen in for Hans. So we have an even more farcical situation. Bjarne rides against Ipswich in one meeting, then again, against his own team-mate (Watt) in the next, whilst Watt rides both for and against Ipswich. And Harris guests for Ipswich then rides against them for Coventry. What a mess.
Edit:
Ipswich v Poole
Ipswich:
1..P Swiderski 2..T Kroner or R/R 3..C Harris (Guest) 4..R Miskowiak 5..R Schlein 6..S Johnston 7..C Schramm
Poole:
1..C Holder 2..M Zetterstrom 3..B Pedersen 4..A Skornicki 5..D Watt 6..F Eriksson 7..D Davidsson
Ipswich v Coventry
Ipswich:
1..P Swiderski 2..T Kroner or R/R 3..D Watt (Guest) 4..R Miskowiak 5..R Schlein 6..S Johnston 7..C Schramm
Coventry:
1..B Pedersen (Guest) 2..O Allen 3..C Harris 4..B Janniro 5..R/R 6..F Sitera 7..J Auty

Hulk Hogan his chums in American wrestling have more credibility than this black farce. All involved in British speedway should hang their heads in shame.

From Evening Star:
Hampel's season with Witches may be over 26 September 2008 | 12:00 MIKE BACON JAREK Hampel's season with the Ipswich Evening Star Witches could be over.
The Speedway Control Board have slapped a 28-day ban on the Polish rider for his non-appearance at Foxhall Stadium last night, meaning Hampel will miss Monday night's play-off clash at Poole and possibly both legs of the final, should the Witches get there.
Hampel was told by his Polish club Leszno he had to race in last night's play-off meeting against Czestochowa, while the Witches wanted him too.
His Polish club was always going to win that one, but it now leaves Hampel out in the cold as regards the British scene.
Witches promoter John Louis is not impressed.
“I personally think it is wrong,” Louis said.
“We are all supposed to care about our sport and yet on Monday in the semi-finals, Jarek is available for us to race, but is not allowed to. And why?
“What choice did he have? He didn't cause the rain-off last week at Czestochowa and it wasn't his fault it was re-arranged for last night. And yet he is banned for missing a meeting with us.
“In Poland he would have had his licence taken away if he hadn't ridden for Leszno.
“It's hardly good for the sport.
“Special dispensation should have been given to us because Jarek would happily have ridden here if there was no clash.”
The Witches will be able to use a guest for Monday's night's semi-final TV clash and today Louis was working on getting a rider.
They will be hoping the 28-day ban is reduced to a 14-day one, which would allow Hampel to race in one of the final legs should the Witches get there

For the life of me i cant understand why Ipswich did not field a weakened team last night, take a couple of defeats on the chin, and head for Dorset with Hampel available.

Firstly because we had a realistic chance of that 3rd place, which TBH would have drawn more Ipswich fans to the semi at nearby Lakeside, sadly we can't get enough people on the coach to make the trek to Dorset being a Monday night ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) , and secondly they were being verbally attacked for "only going to field a 6pt PL rider , why not get a guest ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) ", so they have been damned if they did and damned if they didn't.

Dont understand why you would rather go to West Ham without Jarek, than Poole with him.

Dont understand why you would rather go to West Ham without Jarek, than Poole with him. Well an hour and a half down the A14 rather than countless hours leaving at midday and returning in the middle of the night, with work both days, probably has a lot to do with it quite frankly. Another point from the promoters point of view was for crowd numbers last night I expect....not sure really, I know JL was stunned that Jarek has a ban TBH.
