Needless to say - I was very impressed and swore to remember his name. Agree. I have seen him twice on TV meetings from Poland this year, and especially his score (3,3,1,R,0) in the away meeting at Torun's new stadium was certainly promising. However, with the competition against Grzegorz Zengota for the main junior spot, he has the work cut out for him. Vargarna are in town (Vetlanda) on Tuesday and I certainly hope they are bringing either Dudek or Kus instead of the several of the other candidates, without naming any of them... ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

with immediate effect a new rule have been imposed in sweden.
previously there have been some problems with riders walking around on the track and having opinions on the track occasionally causing delays by persuading the referee to grade the track in another way to suite them better.
but from now on from each team, only the team manager and team captain are allowed on the track between 18.00 and the start of the meeting. Track staff, the race director and the referee are of course also allowed on the track.
any riders who fails to comply with this rule and steps out onto the track during the specified time frame will receive a warning. If he repeat the violation he will get another warning and will be banned from the rest of the meeting.
another two warnings in a later meeting would mean a ban for the rest of the season.

actually Schumi the problem is far more complex and goes longer back then just a money loss last year.
We have had a club president who have somehow managed to run the club a in a very questionable way.
During the 2005 and 2006 season ot was decided that Smederna needed to start a cost saving programme. And it was decided that we could not afford to keep Nicki Pedersen (he left after the 2005 season), Scott Nicholls and Billy Hamill (left after the 2006 season). At the same time Smederna decided that they didnt want to keep Peter Nahlin because he had problems with his back which caused him problems and the Smurf (Robert Sawina) quit because he could no longer afford to rdier after he spent allot of money on 3 new engines that didn't function at all.
Especially Hamill and Nicholls costed allot of money but didn't deliver at all on the track. (The same goes for Jonas Davidsson last season).
Nahlin and Hamill have been 15 seasons each for Smederna, Nicholls 9 seasons and Sawina 5 or 6 seasons. When those 4 left many spectators left with them. From 2005 to 2006 we lost about 1000 people and an additional 200 poeple to 2007.
sometime during 2005 or 2006 Göran Karlsson became president and under his govern the finances have declined. He have said for both 2007 and 2008 that we have budget teams and while the name oh riders isnt impressive (except Jagus) the money have continued to "Flow out" of the club.
According to Göran Karlsson the 2007 season went fairy well with a positive result of around half a million Swedish Kronor but last season went with a big minus. After last season Göran said to local newspapers that Smedernas debt was around 2million Swedish Kronor. To be granted an Elitlicens for 2010 Smederna need to "Find" about one Million kronor before the end of 2008. A candidate for the presidency post (i have forgotten his name) was given the task to try and sell the rights to the team name.
He put in an advert at the website named "Blocket" which is website with sell/buy/rent etc ads. eventually Smederna reached an agreement with sanitation company Ikaros (based in Malmö at the Swedish Southcoast). This brought in some 1,5 million Swedish Kronor to Smederna and most of us thought that hey this is good the Elitlicense is secure and we've "only" have a bout half a million left in debts. In the end of february at the annual yearmeeting (årsmötet). The new canditate was supposed to have been elected by the members but i dont know hwat happened but many was not pleased with him and would prefer some one more experinced (someone like Göran). So the meeting ended in a mess and no new president were elected.
-End of Part 1-
part 2 to follow shortly.

Thomas J Jonasson have been suspended from racing in Poland by SVEMO.
THJ was supposed to ride in the GP quals. today and in Poland tomorrow. However because of the very short notice of the GP qual. Thomas considered that he wasnt able to ride in both Poland and Daugapils sdue to the circumstance that he only had 1 mechanic, one van and only two engines. He talked to his Swedish Team Manager Bosse Wirebrand (Elit Vetlanda tm. Mgr.) that he wasnt able to ride the Daugapils and Bosse forwarded the message top SVEMO. Initially everything was fine as SVEMO accepted that.
However suddenly SVEMO didnt like this and according to THJ's website there are three persons within SVEMO who are the brains behind the ban.
Furthermore there are no paragraphs or any rules that gives SVEMO the right to do this. Unofficially ANders Fröjd is aid to be one of those persons.
IMO this another disgusting decision by SVEMO. Im fully behind THJ on this, a rider him/herself should be allowed to decide if he/She wants to race in a meeting or not.
I think THJ chose correctly when he decided that he wanted to put his effort in his Polish team rather then trying to make it to the gps. I think that THJ would benefit more from riding in Poland with his team then trying to score a few points in qp qual. semi.

Thomas H Jonasson. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) It would be far simpler for him to give up Sweden & Poland and come back over here. You've got to feel some sympathy for the lad - he seems to be in the middle of a constant tug-of-war between the various authorities. It's no way to treat a young lad who must still be in a state of shock following his father's death.

Sounds very strange, I would have thought there are in fact some rules as to what might happen when a swedish rider refuses to ride when representing Sweden and indeed Svemo in an international event?

Especially since it was only 3-4 days notice.

More revelations from Smederna today, and the club will be holding an emergency board meeting this weekend to discuss whether they are able to continue this year, and whether to boycott Tuesday's meeting against Elit Vetlanda, after SVEMO rejected their elite license for 2010. ekuriren.se , folket.se

Smederna have had their board meeting, and are waiting to see if they can get financial help to enable them to stay in the Elitserien. If they can't they'll file for bankruptcy. Nervous times ahead.

And the news from speedwaygp.com
Former Swedish Grand Prix venue Eskilstuna could soon be lost to the sport.
Swedish Elite League outfit Smederna, who ride at the forest venue at Grondal on the outskirts of Eskilstuna, are fighting for their lives - and could be forced to pull out of the league.
The Swedish authorities have already refused the club an Elite licence for 2010 because of their huge debts.
Smederna held a crisis meeting over the weekend and unless a sponsor comes forward quickly with a 1,000,000 kronor bail-out, it is thought the club could fold sooner rather than later.
Eskilstuna has staged GPs at the Smedstadion on three occasions - in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Really sorry for you, the riders, and the club, ghostwalker. It's bad news also for the youngsters who were able to take advantage of the micro speedway scheme, which has now had to be shut down.

It's bad news also for the youngsters who were able to take advantage of the micro speedway scheme, which has now had to be shut down. well the the thing is It will only affect the elitleague team, as far as i know Team Bikab which is an independent team will be able to continue in the same was as Team Dalakraft was transformed into the new "a team" when Masarna went broke last season. The 80cc team will also live on as they also are an independent part of the club. And earlier this summer, maybe two weeks ago there was a statement in the news paper that the future of the 80cc was secured thanks to sponsors so i think that this also includes "sladda runt skolan" (Speedway Sunday School").
