Other rumours surfacing on Rospiggarna and Masarna's guestbooks are that there may be a new team in the Allsvenskan next year. Yeah.. and another 08-team at that. Wonder who that could be? 08 being the national dialling code for Stockholm and an un-official nickname for the region. Now official. Stockholm team Wasps resurrected:Getingarna have sent an application to the Swedish Motorcycle Association to run the speedway in the allsvenskan next year. Wasps rode last in the allsvenskan in 2006 and have since invested in youth development. source: www.sr.se

Piraterna have been granted 250,000 kr by the municipality to go towards the cost of funding their new air fence. The team will still need to find sponsors to fund the rest of the sum needed - an estimated 580,000 - 740,000 kr. source: www.motalatidning.seSebastian Alden has signed a two year deal for Valsarna. source: www.valsarna.nuMasarnaAvesta may have declared themselves bankrupt, but the municipality will have to foot the bill and pay back almost 800,000 kr, as they guaranteed the loan. source: www.nt.seBosse Jansson is hoping that his team, Smederna, can reach a farming deal with Hammarby. It's looking like Joonas Kylmakorpi and Kim Nilsson may be staying with the Stockholm team, and with Mikael Max reportedly being at Smederna, it could be a deal which suits both parties. source: www.folket.se

So.. it sounds like Valsarna may well accept the offered place in the Elitserien. I hope they do, because then I won't have to go to Hagfors next year in allsvenskan (it's litterally the road to the end of the world).

Sorry, Erik. Looks like you're on the road to nowhere after all, as Valsarna were unable to generate the funds needed to go up, and so have turned down the spot in Elitserien. source: nwt.seJonas Davidsson has signed for Piraterna. source: www.piraterna.seIt's unlikely Stefan Ekberg will return to the saddle after he broke a vertebrae in his back, which he had to have pinned and screwed for 6 months. He could have been paralysed, but now he should make a full recovery with some limitations in moving his upper body. He has taken his first steps without crutches and can sit down without major problems, but he still uses pain relievers and sedatives. After too much activity, he gets tired and has to go to bed. He is hoping to be fit in the summer, but his family would prefer him to give up racing. source: www.motalatidning.se

Blast! I suppose it's better for Allsvenskan with 7 teams rather than 6 though, so it's good.

The club haven't yet confirmed it, but it looks as though Kim Nilsson has signed for Vargarna. Tomasz Gollob, however, turned them down. source: www.folkbladet.se

As if it were ever in any doubt, Andreas and Jonas Messing, and Chris Slabon, have agreed a verbal deal to return to Rospiggarna alongside Greg Hancock, Janusz Kolodziej and Charlie Gjedde. source: www.norrteljetidning.se

Nerikes Allehanda claims to know what figures Rune Holta demands for signing for Indianerna. 350 000:- in sign on, 9000:- per meeting in travel expenses and 5800:- per point. That's pretty hefty. By comparison, Grzegorz Walasek got 150 000:- in sign on, 8000:- in travel expensens and 4000:- per point. www.na.se/artikel.asp?intId=1409900

And according to www.folkbladet.se Piraterna have spent a fortune on their new riders - 250,000 just as a sign on fee for Jonas Davidsson, 400,000 for Lindback, and 125,000 for engines for Emil Sajfutdinov. Vastervik have to settle their outstanding debts with riders by the 15th, or they won't get their licence for 2010.

One new "Janne Andersson GM" at the start of the season, and another one after he completes a certain number of meetings for them. That way they won't have thrown their money in the sea if something unfortunate should happen to Emil at the start of the season. God forbid.

I'm glad Kim Nilsson has signed for Vargarna. He now changes the biggest track in the land to one of the smallest and most narrow, I think that's healthy. Also he'll hopefully be teaming up with Tai Woffinden at reserve, which looks an exciting pairing.
Also Scott Nicholls should feel "more at home" at Kråkvilan than any other swedish track. Good signings for Vargarna.
