The Speedway Star is reporting that Allen Trump received the news on Friday that Teignbridge District Council have given planning permission for the new track at Haldon.
It appears that Exeter seals a hat trick of successful applications for husband and wife team, John and Jill Roberts, who were planning consultants for this project, as well as the ventures at Plymouth and Weymouth.
Mr & Mrs Roberts are also acting as advisors for several other projects, including the bid to bring speedway to Bodmin.

That is great news kev, shame it has taken so long, i dont know if you have ever been to halden, but any neighbours would be hard pressed to hear a nuclear explosion let alone a speedway meeting.

Actually, I vaguely remember standing next to a chain link fence outside of the Long Track when I was a kid!!! As you say, noise hasn't really been too much of a problem in this application, just those bloody newts. And I guess there'll be a few folk in Exeter doing newt impressions when they hear the news.

Can you also confirm that I read in the Speedway Star that the Australia GP is due to be re-introducted next season in November?

Good news for falcons fans, I know of at least 1 who's probably still floating about 6 foot above the ground at the moment.
Harry - yes, I read the same thing. GP finale next year planned for Oz in November. Shame that Malaysia seem to have pulled the plug on Speedway, they could have a GP there around the same time too.

The 2009 Australian GP looks set to be held at Melbourne if and when everything's confirmed.
