The first leg of the Cup sees Andersen and Sitera make their first appearance for the Bees. Poole go into this meeting with both the Swedish and Polish Champions, and I think this has great potential. I shall be keeping an eye on it tonight.
Coventry:
1..H Andersen 2..O Allen 3..C Harris 4..B Janniro 5..S Stead 6..A Messing 7..F Sitera
Poole:
1..C Holder 2..M Zetterstrom 3..B Pedersen 4..A Skornicki 5..D Watt 6..F Eriksson 7..D Davidsson

Am expecting to see a Pirates win here - really wish this was the Sky match for this evening (no offence to Edinburgh or Workington intended as I will be watching anyway). Hans and Sitera make Bees stronger but I dont think it will be enough.

Finished in a 45-all draw, so Poole are looking strong going into their home leg. Mixed fortunes for the debutants - Hans Andersen in double figures (12), but Sitera only managing one point in his three heats, including a fall.
Good to see Stead enjoying some form lately, and he was well backed up by Harris, but not a good night for Olly Allen (3 from 4).
Holder also had a bad night by his standards (6+2), and it looks like Skornicki (4+1) left his best bikes in Poland - how frustrating that must be for Poole. Bjarne Pedersen the only rider to score double figures, apart from paid 10 for Zetterstrom. You get the feeling this was a fair reflection of a meeting where either team could have won on paper.

Sitera has a suspected broken knuckle ( from Bees website) although some are suggesting that it's a broken wrist and he will be out for some time.. Bloody shame if it's true. An enjoyable meeting, a bit disappointed with Olly - he was flying last week, that's what makes the Bees so frustrating this year, they're just so bloody inconsistent.. What a difference a year makes. I'd have never have believed that Hans Andersen would be riding in Bees Colours - ever! It's going to take some getting used to but I'm glad he's a Bee Allen Trump says he wants world class riders, well I hope he puts his money where his mouth is and tries hard to get him permanently over the winter.

Reports are that Filip has no broke bones & hopes to take his place at reserve tomorrow. I do hope so, with no Barker available due to Stoke commitments a headache would be avoided. Great entertainment last night btw. Oh & Jacques, welcome back sweetie.
