The latest word on the BSF is that Hancock is being allowed one month's "compassionate" leave, with Reading granted a guest facility to cover. What, the fuck, is this all about? Has he resigned, or hasn't he? Did he sign a contract for a full year, or just until the end of May? Is this just a pathetic excuse to allow Reading a month long guest facility and then a further 28 days for with-holding services afterwards. Where's the transparency? Where's the credibility. The Elite League 2007: a sorry, sick joke.

Not sure if it is just me but the article in this weeks Speedway Star seemed more about Money than a sick wife.

Not sure if it is just me but the article in this weeks Speedway Star seemed more about Money than a sick wife. If riders are owed money, why don't they just come-out and say they're not turning-up for work until they get paid? Why all the bulls**t?

The problem for me, is that there is so much conjecture, you just don't know what to believe?

Local rag today reporting it's unlikely Greg will return (although he is still on compassionate leave). Apparently Wellie & Mark have lined up a possible replacement for him - no hints as to who it could be though, but options must be pretty much limited.

Any news on Greg after his crash in Poland? Was looking for something myself Schumi - last reports were that he went off to hospital but no mention of any possible injuries.

Taken from Speedway Star.
Greg Sets It Straight.
Greg Hancock has spoken out to clear up some of the incorrect stories about his absence from British Speedway.
The World No2 is unhappy some press reports have stated the reason he is having time off from Reading is because his wife Jennie was "very ill".
Hancock said, "It's not true that Jennie is very ill and I am pretty upset it has been put out like that.
"Actually Jennie is fine and healthy and the decision to take time out from British Speedway was mine, and had nothing to do with my family.
"As I said before, the old promotion at Reading knew what the deal was going to be, but unfortunately the new promotion didn't know about it."
Hancock is due to talk with the new Reading promoters at the end of the month, but a return to these shores is looking increasingly unlikely.

Greg Hancock has spoken out to clear up some of the incorrect stories about his absence from British Speedway. Well then, all parties involved should have just been up-front about it instead of subjecting us all to a load of spin.
