But that takes time. Time is something the fans at Peterborough don't have. Which is why a compromise is being sought.

Yeah it's called forcing Rory Schlein to sign for the Panthers so Hans can go to Coventry, and then he gets away with it AGAIN. Well, Rory could always tell him to take a running jump. He's out of a team spot anyway, and making his money in Sweden and Poland. Horton can't force him to ride for them, and he can't legally keep Hans. It's just the BSPA are currently trying to keep all parties happy and trying to prevent the loss of another club. If it went to tribunal, Horton wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Yes but we know what happens in speedway tribunals don't we even if you are in the right

It certainly does and probably puts him at the top of the nominations for 'Flapperjack of 2008' When is someone going to grow a pair and sort this farcical situation out

I back your nomination of Lord Flapperjack. Hopefully Paulco will pick the right man later this evening.

I can't see that any right minded Celt could choose anyone but Horton. How's that for pressure Paulco Cos he could also make it a joint choice with the BSPA joining Lord Flapperjack, simply for allowing the bastard to get away with holding the sport to ransom yet again.

Add my nomination for Lord Flapperjack too. The arrogance of the tosser, "I will decide if Hans leaves"!!!
Pay the man what you fucking owe him and let him get on with his speedway career!!!

Why bring me into it That's being really unfair to Badgers actually, what have they ever done to speedway? , the odd car getting wrecked I'll grant you, but a speedway bike .......no not as far as I know.

If Peterborough were to fold, Horton could then blame lack of support for him pulling the plug. Spot on! We had it from Mick Horton in the Evening Telegraph when he was struggling. We had the distress signals out last year with Colin and even Bratters did it if I remember correctly (they've buggered up the search facility on the ET website so it's difficult to find old articles). If you ever want to close a track just run it badly so that the fans don't turn up (a cuddly toy for the first reply which mentions Oxford ) The one worrying thing about this is it just someone splashing the cash to see boro to the end of the season and keep the EL credible? Or is it a positive move for the future of Peterborough Speedway? Buggered if I know

My cynical mind has been working (GP was too boring to stop it). Doesn't Sullivan ride in Russia? Don't Russia ride on Thursdays? How many home meetings will Sullivan be available for? Sullivan doing nothing wrong as his Russian contract would have been signed before the Boro one. Yep one rider signed, fans appeased with the "return" of a hero, at minimum cost. That Horton guy ain't as green as he's cabbage looking

And they've ridden a fair few - Sullivan has been in 3 already (he rides for Mega Lada Togliatti, same as Nicki P.) So it shouldn't interfere too much, if at all - especially with the fixtures being erratic at the EoES. Edit: his original contract was indeed for 5 meetings.

Well i really didn't want to award this week's title to anyone remotely connected to Peterborough cause the whole pantomime has got me bored rigid . But in the absence of any other creditable challengers ( Monarchs haven't really upset me much this week and nothing happened in the GP boreathon worth talking about ) it is with a heavy heart i have to award it to the one and only mister Colin Horton by being in a class of his own in Flapperjackness .

Excellent choice Paulco. I suppose by signing Ryan they will be able to get a guest facility easy enough for when he rides for his other clubs, whereas without him it would be a 6pt PL rider
