and I believe R/R will be operating for Leigh Lanham who had clearly not recovered from his crash on Monday.

And the Hammers got a lot closer this time around, but it was still a win for the Eagles (49:44). For Eastbourne the star performer was the global superstar, who scored 13 points from 5 rides, while Lee Richardson scored 9 points from 5 rides, comprised of three wins and two falls. For the Hammers Andreas Jonsson was top scorer with 15+1 from 5 rides including a 6 point T/R ride, while Adam Shields weighed in with 9+1 from 5 rides.

This was a fairly good meeting with Eastbourne just about deserving their victory........it was a meeting they had to win, whereas a win for Lakeside would have been a very welcome bonus.
OK, now that's out of the way.............what is it with Eastbourne.........why are so many of their officials and fans total arseholes?
The starting marshall rivals Coventry's for bias toward the home team.......a classic example being when Jonas asked him to check Richardson's position at the gate in Heat 3.....he wouldn't even look. When will someone remind these people that they are effectively SCB officials at meetings and not an extension of the home team?
The fans................well apart from the huge cheers from many of them every time an opposition rider suffers misfortune, why do they have so much of a problem with an opposing rider who outrides their favourites?
There was loud booing every time Adam Shields took to the track, which may be expalined by Eastbourne's perception that he dropped them in it when he signed for Lakeside.........but Ricky Kling?...........his crime was to make passing Eastbourne riders look easy, and show up some of their British 'talent'..........if they can't accept that an opposing rider is capable of winning from the back and entertaining them, then they don't deserve speedway.
Before everyone starts screaming it's only a small minority of fans, maybe it is, but that small minority is much larger than the small minority at other tracks.............and not meant in any way as a pop at our Mimi, who, as I've told her before, is the least Eastbournelike fan that Eastbourne have!!!

Sorry to hear that Kev, you should have come stood on the back straight. Myself and the people I stand with spent most of the meeting joking about the Eagles (as we do most meetings). There was also no booing around where I was, only some annoying man shouting ginger every time Shields was announced. Unfortunately, booing seems to be growing at Arlington, every time the opposition ride an eagle hard they get booed (which is stupid seeing as just last season we supported Nicki P).
As for the meeting, I actually thought we were lucky to win as we looked so slow in some heats. And for the record Kev, I enjoyed watching Ricky Kling, at least he knows what to do when he misses the gate, which is more than can be said for some Eagles like Richardson.

It seems you're right Mimi, I should have joined you on the back straight........there's always the KO Cup meeting. Proof indeed though, of what I said earlier, you are so Uneastbournelike, it's untrue.

There is the KO Cup, which also happens to be my birthday ;D So lakeside are bound to win that one And thank you for recognising I'm not the average Eastbourne fan because this season they are driving me crazy, with their Eastbourne do no wrong attitude.

Ricky's really starting to like that Arlington track. Not too much, I hope.

Sorry for the idiots who booed Adam and the Klingon. Nobody was behaving like that in the stands where we sat. In fact we clapped Adam and Rik.

With you in the stand and Mimi just outside it, it really does seem that the back straight is the place to be for the Semi-Final.......and just for the record at no point was my rant aimed in your direction either SB.......you are another of the rare breed.
