Did they give a time frame, youngy? Morton didn't say anything last night about the new signing. Didn't give a name, confirmation of signing, not a bloody dicky bird. Don't worry about building my hopes up....I know we're shit and always will be whilst we're at that doghole of a stadium. The once Grand Lady of speedway has long gone. The BSPA would rather we didn't exist IMO.

Lol he'll be alright when that Rooboy returns Although he hasn't been popular amongst Aces fans in recent times I have nothing against the lad and would gladly have him at BV in 2008.....although he has a team mate at Coventry who goes rather well at Kirky Lane.....now if I only could remember his name. Chris 'Bom.........nope, it escapes me. ;D

Seriously, if the rules don't change for the better to allow the bottom teams to field a competitive team next year I really fear for the sport as a whole. Hope you get your new signing, and that it's a good one. Has Billy given any indication that he'd like to stay for another year? He's certainly the one I'd be aiming to sign up with immediate effect.

Well, not one name has been mentioned, serious ones, so we'll have an annoucement next week that the rider has decided not to sign after all. Apparantly, there was a meeting in Rugby yesterday with all EL Promotors attending. Somehow, someone on the BSF posted that Mr Sandhu and Mr Gordon agreed on what needs to be done to make the EL elite once again. Not sure what it is they agreed on but why would the top and bottom clubs agree on anything. After the meeting on Monday Gordon Pairman interviewed the riders. None of them gave much away but here's a brief rundown of what was said: Stead - Said he'd found it hard coming back after his 2 bad smashes but in all had a good season (Bollocks.....before his crashes he was average at best). Wright - Said he'd need a better pay deal to move EL full time. Indications are that he'll be at Workington in 2008 altough rumours are he and his brother, Charles, are Birmingham bound for 2008. Screen - Said he'd had an up and down season. Also stated he was testing things out during the latter part of the season. Stated he would be stupid to consider a move elsewhere at this stage of his career. Skornicki - Said he'd enjoyed riding for us and the team was a great bunch of lads. Also admitted he had been very inconsistent and that was something he would need to sort out in 2008. Doolan - Said he'd loved his time at BV in 2007. Stated he wanted to remain EL in 2008 and there was only one place he would want to do that. Forsberg - Said he'd found it difficult learning all the new tracks but he had really enjoyed himself. Lindback - Didn't say a thing although Pairman said if he was at the dinner dance to buy him a drink.......tactful to the end Mr Pairman. Out of the 7 who finished the season for Belle Vue I'd keep Doolan and Forsberg. Wrighty seems to be content to be PL superstar his entire career, which is sad, and Screenie is not going to get any better, only worse, at this stage of his career. If Stead wants to become a World Beater he needs to move away from KL. Lindback.......well, who knows. Skornicki will probably go back to Wolves on his low average. All Belle Vue need is a heatleader. Someone who is guaranteed to score 10-12 points home and away. If we had one this season then I feel we would have been the mid-table side Chris Morton promised us in January. Roll on 2008 is all I can say.

Stead is a mediocre rider who lingered too long in the Premier League, which seems to be the way James Wright is going. In my opinion, Stead will be back in the Premier League, rather than in the GPs in a few short years.

I think Jankowski will be very much in the Skornicki mould, but without the donuts ;D Although i think they did say they wouldn't necessarily be using him even though they signed him

He has the talent and the backing to go far in the sport but another year at PL could see him akin to Simon Stead. A good second string and nothing more. James said he would need it to pay if he went EL full time. If the BV management had any clout about them they would get his name on a permanent contract, make him an asset and if he so chooses to stay PL then at least get a financial benefit from him.

I think he has been signed as a back up incase the BSPA muck up team building plans for 2008. He's not exactly young, a la Tai Woffinden, and from what I have read he looks to be a very ordinary rider, nothing spectacular......unless someone can correct me on that.

Mr Morton was not telling any lies, circumstances prevented the rider coming to the UK and signing. Unfortunately, Belle Vue were left in a difficult situation as they had announced that he would be there and then obviously he was not, completely out of Belle Vues hands I'm afraid, it cost them for the flights and hotel etc, hope things will resolve themselves soon.

Mr Morton was not telling any lies, Just to be clear, my comment was in reference to those on the BSF who were claiming they were in the know. But thanks for shedding some light on it. Can we take it from that the rider in question was one of yours?
