If this goes ahead, cant see it to be honest, the Bears will have Bugeja, Kerr and Giffard back from injury. Chris and Budie rode last night at Sheffield whilst it will be Dan's first meeting after injury his wrist in the KOC at Edinburgh.
Teams:
Bears
1. Gary Havelock (C) 2. Josh Auty 3. James Grieves 4. Chris Kerr 5. Ty Proctor 6. Dan Gifard 7. Arlo Bugeja
Tigers
1. Ricky Ashworth 2. Lee Smethills R/R 3. Andre Compton (C) 4. Joel Parsons 5. Ben Wilson 6. Kyle Hughes 7. Paul Cooper
Prediction: 50-40 win for the Bears. Although Cooper loves the STMP (we actually tried to sign him for the 2006 season) and is at reserve i think a full strength Bears team will be too strong for Sheffield.

Restaging tonight, still think it will be a fairly comfortable Bears win.

So, the Bears ran out comfortable (54-39) winners last night over Sheffield but picked up yet another injury. Chris Kerr, Dan Giffard and Arlo Bugeja all made their return to the STMP after injuries so the Bears were at full strength.
Heat 1 saw the TR go for 6th meeting out of the last 8 and Ricky Ashworth claimed it with a time of 58.2 seconds. Chris Kerr won his first race back in Heat 3 but it could have been a 5-1 had Jimmy Grieves' bike not packed in when well ahead.
10 points up after 6 heats saw Andre Compton come out in a TR in Heat 7 and Sheffield got a 7-2 which was their only heat advantage of the night.
Then the injury curse struck once again in Heat 11. Ashworth fell on bend 1, Dan Giffard was just behind him and hit his bike sending Dan and his bike cartwheeling accross the track. He was complaining of neck and back injuries aswell as possibly damaging the shoulder which he has a metal plate in from a previous injury. Went to hospital for x-rays - not good.
Josh Auty and Arlo Bugeja were undoubtedly the stars of the night with great points returns. For Sheffield only Parsons and Wilson offered any resistance but even then it wasn't anything to worry about, Paul Cooper was dissapointing.
Bears
1. Gary Havelock (C) 2, 2', 3, 2, 3 = 12+1 2. Josh Auty 1', 3, 3, 1 = 8+1 3. James Grieves 0, 3, 2, 3 = 8 4. Chris Kerr 3, 0, 1', 3 = 7+1 5. Ty Proctor 3, 2, 3, 1', 0 = 9+1 6. Dan Giffard 1, 0 WITHDRAWN = 1 7. Arlo Bugeja 3, 2', 1, 2', 0, 1 = 9+2
Tigers
1. Ricky Ashworth 3, 2, 0, 0 = 5 2. Lee Smethills R/R 3. Andre Compton (C) 1', 6!, 0, 2 = 9+1 4. Joel Parsons 2, 1, 0, 2, 2, 1' = 8+1 5. Ben Wilson 1, 0, 3, 1, 3, 2 = 10 6. Kyle Hughes 0, 0, 1, 2, 1' = 4+1 7. Paul Cooper 2, 0, 1', 0, 0 = 3+1

Dan Giffard has broken his shoulder, the same shoulder which has a metal plate in from a previous crash.
Get well soon Dan.
