Yes, the club is inviting all of the services along to come and enjoy an action-packed, high-octane, speedway meeting for FREE!! Racers’ promoter Malcolm Holloway said: “Reading Speedway has now been going for 40 years and we are very grateful for the services that have been provided for us over that time. “There are many examples, such as that from the NHS for looking after our riders when injuries have occurred. “Along with the NHS, we also recognize the vast amount of service that the Police, Fire, Armed Forces, RAF and Territorial Army give the local community of Reading, and all over the country. “This is Reading Speedway’s way of saying thank you and putting something back into the community.” For full official details on the evening, please visit www.readingspeedway.com

Nice one Well done Reading. I wonder where they got the idea for that from? Have the Reading management considered expanding this offer to include the building trades..........that would make far more sense. ;D I really am only joking Wakkers.

Now I have a dilemma. Do I go to Reading, and maybe get in free with my ID or do I go to Coventry v Lakeside which is further to travel and I don't get in free I have emailed Reading speedway asking this question and whether they have a poster for me to display at work.

Been told I am getting in free and I have a poster to put up on the walls at work tomorrow. And you are right about Lakeside against Coventry. I have already seen them against each other at Coventry this year.

To think Paulco came all the way down from Scotland to watch that. The only positive that night was the company.

And it looks to have turned out to be a rather good meeting, with the cruel, crazy Bandits pushing Reading all the way, before losing out in a last heat decider (47:46). For the Racers the star performer was Somerset's Jason Doyle, guesting in place of Ulrich Ostergaard, who scored 13 points from 5 rides. He received solid support from Mark Lemon (9+3 from 5 rides), Tom P Madsen (9+1 from 4 rides) and Chris Mills (7 from 4 rides, including an exclusion in Ht 13). However, Tomas Suchanek was again a liability for the Racers, scoring just 2+1 from 4 rides. For the Bandits the star of the show was once again Adrian Rymel, who scored 17 points from 5 rides, including a 6 point TR ride in Ht 11. And it could've been a maximim, as he was leading Ht 13 from partner Norbert Magosi when the race was stopped, but he lost out to Lemon in the re-run. As for the rest, well reserve Clews was probably the pick of the bunch, scoring 13+1 from 7 rides, while Makovsky (7+2 from 5 rides) and Aarnio (7+2 from 5 rides) also showed to good effect. But Norbert Magosi struggled badly and could only manage 1+1 from 4 rides.

Decent meeting & a good crowd. Reading looked to be coasting mid-meeting before being hit with one of those bloody tacticals again.
Doyle a good guest, Lemo picking up points where it matter well backed by Madsen. Mills was a bit unlucky, got his nose well & truly chopped off by Rymel (twice in ht 13) who seemed to want to turn left as soon as the tapes went up and then had Magosi turn left on him entering bend one leaving no option but to drop the bike or ride through Magosi.
Reading reserves didn't look effective tonight and Suchanek could have cost us the meeting - pathetic!!
Rymel looked super quick, but was well beaten by Lemo in ht13 who stormed round the outside of him exiting bend 2. Clews took a bit of warming up but looked quick and loved the dirt on the outside later in the meeting. Makovsky had moments, Aarnio made imo an impressive Smallmead debut, Magosi looked out of control for most of the meeting and Smith looked like he'd never ridden a bike before in his life!

Would like to say that was a bad night for Scud but as I saw him in much the same form fro Worky at Smallmead earlier this season I'll just say "oh dear" Was worried at heat 13 that we were on for Lemo's usual Smallmead 7+1 for the umpteenth time this season until he beat Rymel Soosh has looked hopeless on anything other than a Smallmead completely devoid of shale this year. After a handfull of races having a go round the outside a few meetings ago he's gone back to riding the poxy white line again...GRRRRRRR!! Tho, as you say Wacks, probably score loads against Glasgow now that's been said. Pip
