And only a race-off required because of the much-maligned "Joker" rule. Exciting finish to tonight's meeting (after a somewhat dull opening 15 or so races), but should the Joker have any place in a World Championship event?

Genghis quit your moaning. I though that was a good meeting, Leszno proving once again to be a brilliant track and Mr. Adams proved as he has all season he is the master of Leszno Roll on Monday!

There have been far better televised meetings from Leszno than tonights effort . Genghis - the joker was fine on It's a Knockout , but that's where it should have stayed . And Miss Blue was playing with fire blowing kisses at me all night .

True there has, but what do you expect when you get riders like Magosi and the 184 year old Sandor Thyiani plotting around about half a lap behind? When you got good quality riders out together like Emil Saj, plus an Aussie and a Pole, the racing was very good indeed. Even Gizatullin produced some fine rides himself, but the lack of competition from the Hungariens makes it a two horse race which was expected.

There was a Hungarian touring side that rode against some PL teams in 1991 . They rode against Glasgow at Shawfield and i'm sure Tihanyi rode in that side .

And only a race-off required because of the much-maligned "Joker" rule. I'd have been inclined to go with Gollob - he's the experienced campaigner and has done it at the highest level consistently, just like Adams. As long as Denmark win on Monday evening , which is the likliest outcome , then Poland should be ok . Despite Vojens not being ideal for them , i would expect them to take care of Team GB quite comfortably . Only fly in the ointment would be Denmark making a hash of things at Brandon . Paulco - even if GB do win on Monday, I can't see the Swedes or the Russians beating Poland on Thursday.

I think it's fair to say the finalists will most probably be Poland, Aussies and Denmark.
And then it's down to who can cope better on the super slick Vojens track - Sweden or GB. My worry is that if GB have a bad night, Russia could take the piss and get 3rd or maybe I am thinking too many years ahead.

Hard to see the Poles making the final now. But Walasek - their star performer at Vojens last season - will surely replace Jagus for the race-off. I think I'd personally go for Walasek replacing Kasprzak - I thought he was actually disappointing tonight, given it's his home track. Vojens may just be Jagus' cup of tea - he can find drive on the slick like no other rider can. I do think the Poles can still make the final, especially if the Danes win on Monday night. I don't think (as previous years have shown) that going to the race-off is a bad thing at all. Rico
