Why are you not enjoying yourself at Berwick instead of watching this guff . Good question. Actually, it's "chucking it down" here and I'm about 20 miles south of the cruel, crazy town, so they might not go the distance tonight. And the racing has picked up a little. A superb ride from Adams to beat Holta and that battle between Gizatulin, Gollob and Holder was good.

It's not looking good for the Poles - going to be very tense over these last five races.

If Australia can get through Sullivan's and Watt's races by only giving 2 points to Poland - that should be enough .

Last heat decider - Hampel and Holder.

Except it wasn't - a race-off, presumably between Hampel and Adams. In spite of Hampel's maximum, I'd say that Adams was favourite. Or will the Poles go with Gollob?

Well despite Russia's help , the Poles have to go to the race -off . Hampel looked unbeatable all night , but i suppose a race-off is a different kettle of fish .

And he never looked like winning the race-off, did he? I'd have been inclined to go with Gollob. But I'm not the Polish team manager. Hard to see the Poles making the final now. But Walasek - their star performer at Vojens last season - will surely replace Jagus for the race-off.

Hampel - 15 point max on his home track or the experience of Gollob . Australia had the easier choice to make and you always suspected Adams would have Hampel's measure in the race off .

And only a race-off required because of the much-maligned "Joker" rule. I'd have been inclined to go with Gollob - he's the experienced campaigner and has done it at the highest level consistently, just like Adams.

As long as Denmark win on Monday evening , which is the likliest outcome , then Poland should be ok . Despite Vojens not being ideal for them , i would expect them to take care of Team GB quite comfortably . Only fly in the ointment would be Denmark making a hash of things at Brandon .
