Early days, but I knew he'd come good. From www.speedwayworld.tvMANUEL Hauzinger made a remarkable debut for Swindon as the Robins crushed Eastbourne to go back to the top of the table. Hauzinger, brought in to replace the axed Theo Pijper, scored eight points in his first appearance at Blunsdon, including two race wins. The Austrian won Heat 2 but his best moment came in Heat 11 when he headed home Scott Nicholls - the man who had won the British Final on the same circuit just a fortnight ago. Swindon won 53-39, the final scoreline made somewhat more acceptable for the Eagles by a last-heat 5-1 which Leigh Adams sat out and Mads Korneliussen crashed out of. It was the second Elite League visit to Blunsdon this season which has seen Eastbourne comfortably beaten, and the result raises more questions over their lower-order, with the Eagles outside the top four and having raced the most matches of anyone in the table. Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: "I was looking for four or five points from Manuel tonight so for him to get eight was absolutely brilliant. "Even when he didn't make the starts, he hung on in there for some points, and that's exactly what you want from a reserve. I couldn't have asked for anything more from him really. It was a great debut."

Manuel looked fanstastic - Wrighty too. Manuel seemed a good gater, very fast and looked so at home around the Abbey that it stuns me to think that a rider so inexperienced at the top level, who had never set foot in Wiltshire before, could pull off such a performance. He may never live up to this debut promise but he's already won over the whole crowd. Even me and grachan were getting excited! Whole season has been a far better atomsphere than previous Elite years - with the odd exceeption of Seb, the rest of the team are ones you can really get behind.
People kept calling us Prem Plus in March - which i assume was some EL fans idea of an insult - but the teams attitude DOES compare more readily with , say the succesful and popular 2000 robins.

Even me and grachan were getting excited! Indeed. I seem to recall going off on one about Jan Andersson in 1975 or something along those lines!

I saw Manny on a few occasions riding for Birmingham last year, and he's a very much under-rated and entertaining rider - an excellent addition to the EL in general, and Swindon in particular.
