Well, after a tight start - the first nine heats were all 3-3s - the heathen Monarchs, as expected, pulled away to win with relative ease (39:53). For Scunthorpe the lesser Karlsson and Hall did well enough, both scoring 10 points from 5 rides, although Hall's did include 4 points on a Tactical Substitute ride in Ht 14. Carl Wilkinson put in a solid showing, scoring 8 from 5, but Andrew Moore was a massive disappointment, scoring just 3+1 from 4. For Edinburgh, Andrew Tully was the undoubted star of the show, scoring 14+1 from 6 rides (including a 0 when he had a puncture while on a 5-1 with Fisher in Ht 14). Tully received solid backing from Fisher 13+1 from 5 and Lawson 9+2 from 5. But captain Sneddon struggled, scoring just 1+1 from 3.
