I-O-W is a beast regardless of country....and you wonder why with the reasonable eases as regards to access. Why the Brits don't ride around there in practice WTF? Can someone please translate this jibberish for me! ;D To translate from Hazzish - IOW is an extremely large track regardless of what country it's in. With the reasonable ease to which you can again access to the IOW track, you wonder why they don't hold more national practice around there in preparation for Polish or other continental meetings.

You're right, sounds like Jim Lynch should be advised to frequent some Premier League tracks in the run up to the SWC! Maybe that was why we were shite last year..... not enough PL riders in the squad Pip He was at Brum on Wednesday

Update on the TR at Perry Barr
Jason Lyons lowered it to 56.6 last Wednesday and then Kevin Doolan equalled it yesterday evening.

A new track record of 53.4 was set at Redcar tonight by Gary Havelock, and then equalled a couple of races later by Ty Proctor.

I don't suppose there's any chance the previous record was held by Woffinden was it? That way I might be able to cover up my appalling error by claiming I only pasted over the surname.

Anyone know the fastest track in the word in terms of avg speed? I think it's one of those questions along the lines of 'what is the tallest building in the world'. There's no one answer. I'd guess that the longer the track, the faster the average speed, but at what point does a speedway track become a longtrack> The FIM defines speedway tracks up to 425 metres, with longtracks anything over that. However, that's an international definition, and there have certainly been longer tracks running speedway in the past. I'd have thought the old Claremont track in Australia must have been one of the quickest tracks, as that was 500 or 600 metres if memory serves. I've no idea which track would be the quickest now, but it would probably be over 400 metres.

There cant be a track in Britain that is 400 metres, not even Exeter, Wembley or White City were that big.
