Bowen Injury Update
Luke Bowen is due to see physio Brian Simpson at Ipswich to begin treatment for his ligament and muscle damage. At the time of writing, it is still not known how long he will be out of action, but clearly he is not expected to ride in this weekend’s home and away KO Cup matches against Newport. The Silver Ski Rockets will operate the Rider-Replacement facility as coverage, with Tommy Allen and reserves Danny Betson and Robert Mear eligible to take replacement rides. The Rockets are also planning to use Danny Halsey as a No.8 for Saturday’s home leg, and he will also be eligible in this role.

Tommy Gun Sidelined in Latest Injury Blow
The bad news has reached the Rye House camp that “4th Heat Leader” Tommy Allen has suffered knee ligament damage in a nasty tumble while riding in Sweden this week. This is a major blow both to the Rockets and to Tommy, who has been sidelined with similar knee problems in the last few seasons.
The Rockets will operate Rider-Replacement as coverage for Tommy in the immediate future, while the full extent of his injury is determined. That facility will first come into play for this weekend’s Premier League KO Cup tie against Newport, with further changes lower down the riding order to accommodate Luke Bowen’s absence.
British U-21 Finalist Danny Halsey – who was originally earmarked as Saturday’s No.8 – will now ride the Hoddesdon leg at No.2 (replacing the injured Bowen), while the Isle of Wight’s Andrew Bargh will guest for Bowen in Sunday’s return match in Gwent. Bargh stormed to paid 8 in the Islanders’ Premier Trophy match at Newport earlier this month, and Rye promoter Len Silver and team manager John Sampford have taken a “horses for courses” route in their choice of guest, in the hope that he can deliver the goods again to help the Rockets into the competition’s last eight.
That's funny that! Because I call him Tommy Tank! ;D

Rye House 60 Newport 30... same old same old here... Robert Mears number 7 for Rye House was paid 20 from 7 rides, so desperately unlucky to get a flatty on the 4th corner of lap 4 on his final ride to deny him a paid max of 21 from reserve. Tai was immense as usual - paid max (again ) Be interesting to see how Newport fair today in the reverse fixture this afternoon..
