And April can't end soon enough for the Tigers, as Edinburgh hammered them at Ashfield today (34:58). According to reports, a very annoyed Stewart Dickson (Glasgow co-promoter and team manager) took to the centre green microphone after the meeting to tell the crowd exactly what he thought of his team. Parker, Leverington (who crashed out of the meeting in Ht 1) and Grajczonek were exonerated, but the rest of the Tigers were labelled "gutless". Dickson stated that losing to "your closest rivals in such a manner" was unacceptable and that he was sick of hearing "excuses and whining about this and that week in and week out". As far as scorers go, the meeting was dominated by Glasgow's "Messiah" who scored 19 points from 6 rides, including a fine 4 points from a Tactical Substitute ride in Ht 6 - he broke his own track record in Ht 3, while he was at it. For the Monarchs, only Tully missed out on the points festival and even he recorded a paid win in his 4+1 from 4. But the star was young Australian Aaron Summers, who recorded him first maximum (11+1 from 4), in spite of starting Ht 14 off a 15 metre handicap after demolishing the tapes.

Fantastic result for the lads. Yes I know Glasgow were appalling (Parker apart) but you can only beat what's on the track with you and boy how we did that.
Aaron was magnificent. He rode fast, hard and very determined. He was so eager to get that maximum in heat 14 that he must have thought he had blown it going through the tapes and having to go off 15 metres. But what a belter of a race for him to stalk the two Tigers then when the gap was there whoooooosh through the middle to take them both going in to the last lap. Excellent stuff. He was absolutely thrilled as were his team mates for him.
Special mention for Thomas too. Great gating and powerful first bends.
Shane Parker aside Glasgow were pathetic. Obviously the loss of Leverington was very hard on them.
I was on the back straight just up from the second bend and I am afraid Fish did make contact with Leverington and that's why Leverington hit the fence. Nothing intentional but that second bend is almost square and I think it caught Fish out and he shot across towards Leverington. But he was rightly excluded.

So as the dust settles on yesterday's Massacre at the Messiahdome and the Grand Monarch and his disciples depart gloating and laughing back along the M8 - things are grim in No Mean City . The Blue and Gold juggernaut continue unabated towards global domination while we skulk in the shadows licking our wounds . But all is not lost . In every league in every sport someone has to come last , and dont we just look the boys for the job . As we stand scratching our heads with the realisation that our promotion have all the team building nous of Dolly the Sheep , we can enjoy our efforts at challenging for the one honour left for us - The Spoon made of wood . So lets examine our chances -
Shane Parker - no , no , no Shane . Winning races and breaking track records is not the way to go about things at all . Must do worse . Josh Grajczonek - will have to be spoken too as he's trying far too hard . Trent Leverington - still a way to slide before he's crap enough .
So those three dont look up to the job , but the next 4 certainly are . Lee Dicken - cult hero on the Ashfield terraces . Unfortunately when something has a cult following ( like the television programme " The Prisoner or the American 70s band The Grateful Dead ) usually means it's shite and yes Lee fits the bill admirally . Robert " Elite League superstar " Ksiezak - hmmm does finishing half a lap behind Desperate Deek on your own track make you an EL rider - well quite possibly . So since the PL is obviously beneath our Robert - the weekly 3 paid 4 is just to cover the petrol down to Manchester . Ross Brady - a sight to behold is our Ross . Riding a speedway bike that slowly must take a fair bit of skill . No danger of our Ross adding to the dust problem at Ashfield . Mitchell Davey - there is a long and successful list of rugged Australians who have ridden for the Tigers , and then there is Mitchell Davey . You dont like to be horrible about a young laddie , but there just doesn't look to be anything there that makes you think he could be a rider of any note . So there you have it - our wooden spoon credentials are there for all to see .

I see from the Easy Tiger forum that the "Messiah" is a little annoyed at some of the posts after yesterday's debacle. I know rival fans have always enjoyed painting a scene of the "Messiah" directing track preparation and even putting his time at Ipswich to good use by driving a tractor - it's part of the fun and frollicks. But to have Glasgow supporters bringing the subject up is a bit off. And the "Messiah" isn't a happy fellow. Everything I've heard about the "Messiah" suggests that he's a team man without peer, so you have to reckon that if there's a secret set-up that's required, he'll not be keeping it to himself. To read the "Messiah" posting things such as "you won't need to worry about me too much longer" must be very disturbing to any Glasgow supporter with more than a couple of brain cells.

The guy ( Woodhead Som ) who started all this nonsense has been stirring it on Easy Tiger for a while . I know who this individual is and i know of his agenda . He tried unsuccessfully to become a Glasgow Promoter during the winter ( he's a local businessman ) and is an egotistical individual who really fancies himself as some sort of savour of Glasgow speedway , and strutting around playing the " big i am " . Needless to say his overtures to join the board were rebuffed and he has become increasingly more bitter and twisted as the weeks pass . And is now becoming a bit of a dangerous pest .

Well he cant build a team worse than D&D have done this year, anyone who thought Crash and Mrs Brady would improve enough to back up Parker are clearly nuts.
