Over at Sky Studios preparations are being made for the televised Grand Prix
Event in their GP Series Preview program.
‘Are you looking forward to Round One of the Grand Prix series at Ullevi on
Saturday Kelv’, quoth Keith?
‘Sure am’, quoth Kelv, ‘this is just about the finest field of speedway riding
excellence your ever likely to see’.
‘I Skybet you wish you were riding’, quoth Nigel!!!
I was never that lucky to win a World Speedway crown’, grimaced Kelv, ‘but right
now I wish I had have been’.
What do you make of the draw’, quoth Keith to lucky to be riding in the event
Sky TV pundit Uncle Sam?
‘I’m not impressed by the fact that all the American riders have been drawn
together in the same group’, quoth Uncle Sam
‘I think that’s got a lot to do with the input of BSI insisting that Grand Prix
World Champions be allocated their places’, quoth th’astute Kelvin.
‘Did they do that because they wanted most of all the Grand Prix riders in the
same group to ensure maximum representation in the Grand Final’?
‘I don’t know why they’ve done it’, quoth th’irritated Uncle Sam, ‘but what I do
know is the American boys are all going to pull together throughout our three GP
rounds and make sure that most if not all of us are there in the Grand Final’.
‘It seems there is controversy surrounding the decisions on GP qualification
already’, chuckled Kelvin.
‘This can only add to the anticipation of the millions of speedway fans who will
be avidly following the series to discover who will actually be the ‘All Time
Great World Champion’.
‘And we will be here’, quoth Keith, ‘to record every moment of each Grand Prix
as they unfold. Personally I will be rooting for my old mate Barry Briggs. What
about you Kelv’
‘Ummm it’s all going to be too close to call. The permutations are endless and
even when the outcome is decided I don’t doubt there will be those who don’t
agree with whoever it is will be Grand Champion. But what I do know is that Heat
1 in the first Grand Prix looks like it’s going to be a cracker. Someone’s going
to drop points right from the start.
(Exciting or what eh’, chuckled Uncle Mr Clemens to his silly sen!!!)
‘What I do know is the Skysports team will be on hand to bring you all the news
and views of the riders taking part’, quoth Keith. ‘
Sophie Blake will be in the pits and so will Jonathan Greening in among the all
time greats. Tony Dullard and Nigel Pearson will be commentating on the races. I
am sure both of them will have a lot to say about who did what in each heat.
Chris chuffin Louis will be joining me here in the studio for the
entire series, (Keith looks sweetly into the camera at the watching speedway
millions), by popular request of a man wearing a colourful woolly pullover.
There will also be other people concerned with speedway dropping in to voice
their opinions on the great goings on going on’.
‘There are going to be a lot of surprises along the way’, quoth th’astute
Kelv. ‘I am sure that the watching speedway millions will have something to say
about the outcome of the series. They will have their opinions on which riders
they expect to do well and their opinions might well influence the outcome of
the series.
(‘You nivver know’, chuckled Uncle Mr Clemens, ‘the lack of interest of speedway
fans might be total. For as we know speedway is full of surprises).
‘One person’s been surprised already’, quoth Nigel Pearson, ‘you should have
seen the look on Nigel Wagstaff’s face when he realized he won’t be allowed in
the BSPA VIP Enclosure having relinquished his hold on Oxford Speedway’.
‘Lucky, lucky Aaron Lanney’, chuckled th’intellectual Kelv. ‘He must have known
something that Nigel didn’t’. Eh???
(Insider Speedway Forum knowledge or what eh’, chuckled wicked old Uncle Mr
Clemens).
‘The atmostphere is electric already’, quoth Kelv, ‘I hardly dare to think what it will be like in Gothenburg on Saturday night. I can’t wait.
(You might have to’, chuckled wicked old senile Uncle Mr Clemens to his silly sen).
