I'd quite like to go to the bollocks-spouting evening at Peterborough myself - but I have very little doubt that once Mick B saw me walk in he'd smell a sizeable rat! Have I mentioned that I moninate Jason Crump for FOTW just for being a tosser?

Ah well, hortonfan wishes he was going to the Peterborough forum, but personally I wish ladyrobin was going - I can just see the golem Swales wilting under the onslaught. Greatest massacre since, well, since we Mongols hit China. If only I could get there....

I respect him as he is a brilliant speedway rider, I gather a decent husband and father. He is a good ambassador for this sport of ours and is usually there or there abouts with his love of the sport with team mates etc and a percentage of all his merchandise sales goes to a children's charity. He in my opinion is not a 'tosser' by any stretch.

Though that may all change on Saturday if he finishes third instead of Hans (and yes, I already know this is pretty inevitable)

I understand and appreciate the banter between speedway fans and all is fair in love and war. (LW knows how much I pull her leg about HA, but I recognise he is a truly gifted speedway rider) but some on here just like to push that it far that involves crossing a line. Its them usually that are the first ones to complain when the shoe is on the other foot. May the best man win. That is the main thing. (thanks sube)

I would have probably agreed until Thursday night - certainly I would have been a lot less harsh in my comments. I wonder how he would feel if someone who is admired and respected by his own kids declined to have a photo taken with them on such a flimsy excuse as "having the wrong hat on" though? The request was made politely and reasonably, and the whole "Junior Witch" scheme was explained to him at the time so he knew what the score was, and that this particular youngster has stated that he, Crump, was his favourite rider. Fortunately the child was not aware of his hero's reluctance to have a shot done with him and Crump was basically steered into having no option but to have it done.

Can you guarantee me 100% Chris Louis has not done anything similar then? If so he is he a 'tosser'.

Can you guarantee me 100% Chris Louis has not done anything similar then? If so he is he a 'tosser'. I'm certainly not aware of him having done so - but the problem with Crump is that he has what is commonly known as "form" for this sort of behaviour. It's certainly not even the first time he's behaved this way at Foxhall, and I'm aware of incidents at Arena essex and other places too. Had Louis, or indeed another rider made a habit of behaving this way then yes I would imagine that people would very likely describe him in similar terms, He'd probably deserve it too if he constantly forgot who in real terms pays his wages! I'm not slating your opinion for a second Jim - simply stating my own on this thread as this is, after all, what it's here for. If you check back on the FOTW thread a few weeks back when Crump was nominated for the alleged lack of team riding in the playoffs you'll see that I actually defended him in that instance! He's a talented rider - of that there's no doubt, and will quite rightly go down in the history books as such. It's just a shame - in my view and that of rather a lot of others - that he can't get his PR a bit more polished.
