You can forget your heathen "auld firm", you can forget Arsenal versus Spurs, Liverpool versus Everton and City versus United. They're nothing. This weekend sees the real derby meeting: the mighty Magpies versus the sad, miserable, despicable, horrible Mackems. Yes, on Saturday the Toon Army makes its way into the shabby city of Sunderland, where eternal glory or equally eternal shame awaits the players. Defeat to the horrible Mackems can't be contemplated - it is the sacred duty of Newcastle's chosen eleven to defeat the Mackems and help send Roy Keane, Naill "The Plank" Quinn, disco pants and all, and the whole stain on the North East back to the Champship where they rightly belong.

There was me thinking the real derby was between the Up'Ards and Down'Ards in Ashbourne.

I am off Newcastle hopefully to watch them play Bolton at SJP for my Dad's Xmas present.

Well after the miserable draws with both bourgh and the mighty Mackems who is the best team in the dank grim north east of Englandshire? I feel a poll coming on ;D
