And Oxfordshire is also included in the South-East Region, and gets BBC South, so what does that prove? BTW - I not only brush my teeth but floss as well, but maybe that's the continental influence. My point exactly. There is two Midlands regions....East and West...never heard Oxford in either those two. Not unless there is a South Midlands...? Well, yes there's a West Midlands (the Metropolitan county). And there's a South Midlands area (well, there is for ITV television). But is there an East Midlands? - surely that's just East Anglia.

It's confusing because there's both a West and East Midlands Region, as well as a West Midlands Metropolitan County. There has traditionally been a South Midlands area as well, although it's never been a formal government area, and is pretty ill-defined. Years ago, Oxford was in the South Midlands region of the National Bus Company (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Midland). There was also a South Midlands Football League, which covered Bedfordshire, parts of Buckinghamshire, and the occasional Oxfordshire team. Whilst that has since merged with the London Spartan League (itself an earlier merger of the London and Spartan Leagues), it still serves much of this area. To me, the South Midlands is Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, and possibly parts of Northants as well. surely that's just East Anglia. East Anglia doesn't exist as a government region any more. It's part of the larger Eastern Region now.

Okay, what happened to our merry bunch of football hooligans? I may be a mere girlie, but even I know there’s a small game on tonight, isn't there?

Yeh, but everyone hates the 2 finalists apart from their plastic followers.
