Well that was just quite astonishing. Outrageous goal from McFadden (you'd have thought their goalie was Scottish) but a supremely well organised Scottish rearguard action managed to keep France out. One comment I picked up before the match was the the French coach had apparently said if you combined the French and Scottish teams the only Scottish player he'd select would be Craig Gordon, the goalkeeper. C'est la vie I still think it's going to be difficult to qualify out of the group with a must-win game coming up at home to Ukraine next. A tricky trip to Georgia follows on before a month's break before taking on the Azzuri at Hampden. Wins in the first 2 matches will see us needing a point in the last game to qualify regardless of other results. It would be wonderful if somehow playing out a dull 0-0 draw with the Italians saw us both qualify, but sadly I can't see it happening as I'm sure the French won't drop points till the end of the group. I understand the poor fellow had a hangover this morning... ;D I hope they never get out of the group stages in the World Cup if that's what a win in a qualifier does ;D

I understand the poor fellow had a hangover this morning... ;D I hope they never get out of the group stages in the World Cup if that's what a win in a qualifier does ;D It was against France - and away . Quite possibly the best result in Scotland's history - apart from maybe Wembly 1977 . I was awol for a week then ;D

Ah yes - another battle won in 67 but England won the war as usual and went through to the finals in Italy Oh, I got my 7s mixed up. 77 of course when the hooligans tried to take some English firewood and turf back over the border ;D A message there last night perhaps? A good result but no prizes yet for beating the frogs
