Much as Goldmember and others would like young Waite to sign British riders to replace the Weirdity and Sebastian Truminski, it's surely more likely that he'll look to East Europe and his MSJ connections. So, could that mean a team berth for Marek Mroz, who made such a huge inpression on paulco and, apparently, the Newport safety fence during the Welsh Open a month or so ago?

I dont have any issues with Eastern Europeans riding for the bandits mate, i just want them put their Berwick commitments first. As for signing Marek Mroz, i too seen him at the Welsh Open and i think he could do a decent job at SFP for the Bandits, in fact paulco and myself discussed the very thing at the Scottish Open last Friday.

I imagine it is a difficult one for the East Europeans, especially the Poles. Truminski was always likely to ride for Lublin on Sunday, so that begs the question of why Waite signed him. I can't imagine that Truminski has missed many meetings for Lublin this season. The Rempala situation may be more complex, after all, I believe Rempala has ridden for Berwick on occasions this season when Tarnow have been riding. So, what went wrong on Sunday? Well, early in the season Rempala wasn't scoring for Tarnow and with the squad system, he was easily covered. But lately he's been banging in some useful points. Sunday's meetings in Poland were very important - the last round of the Ekstraliga season, with Tarnow fighting for a place in the play-offs and trying to avoid the ignomy of being in the relegation dog fight. I guess they maybe ordered Rempala to be there and with the Polish authorities backing them all the way, perhaps the Weirdity had little option other than to comply. That doesn't help Berwick, of course, but it does show the clout that Polish clubs have when it matters. Now, as far as I'm aware, Mroz, like Rajkowski at Newport, doesn't have a stable relationship with a club in his homeland, so maybe he is a safer option.

No doubt the rider signed will be a short term solution to what is developing into a long term problem, Peter really has shot him self in the foot this time hasn't he, many Bandits fans said when Jac and to a lesser extent Truminski were signed.
"It doesn't matter how good they are they don't solve the problems."
What kind of signals does signing a 27 year old Pole give of ?
Or a 33 year old Pole ?
All well and good if they come over and hit or improve there average from the of, but if they don't they are an instant failure, no long term plan in getting a rider like this.
Clearly the dream Waite rider will come over average 10 from the of and be sold on for a tidy profit.
Doesn't Peter understand he could sign a rider from the continent with long term potential and under the age of 25 !
He may feel this is what he has done with the Czechs and they have never delivered on there early promise or have they .....
Franc has been a regular source of income to Peter for the last 3 years
Michal one of the most undervalued performers who will ride for him, he has given Peter everything he has.
Rymel ....while it ended in tears he developed into a very decent Pl performer and Peter got rid of him at the time he was ready to burst
The Poles have offered him very little in return, other than headaches and failure to deliver , the Czechs rode there hearts out but couldn't get any better the Poles have so much more in them than they deliver I don't know if this is just a Polish mentality or what , but there results and performances in comparison to there ability has been such a frustration to your every day Bandits supporter, we don't ask much more than for the rider to try there best , I don't know if the Poles always do
PW was clearly rubbing his hands at the thought of Jac and Truminski coming in and stealing the show then being loaned out for his short term profit, doesn't Peter understand that teams have no interest in these riders unless they can sign them on a false average.
Berwick need a rider of long term stability who is going to improve PW had numerous chances to get this rider over the winter.
Legault, Wilko or Complin and he failed.
I have no interest in a Pijper , Hurry or Fisher like character I want some one I can watch improve and grow.
Sign some one now on a 8.00 average and get them a realistic figure for next year ! and let them grow as a rider, I mean a Chris Kerr, Cory Gathercole or Sclien like rider
While they all seem far fetched there are riders out there who can improve and make Peter an investment in the pocket 26 year old plus riders from the continent unfortunately wont.
Peter show the fans you want the team to succeed and not just your wallet !.

Quite a bit of sense in that. Newcastle look to have signed a real prospect in teenager Jonas Raun, who, while he looks ill at ease around Shielfield Park, has impressed me elsewhere. But Peter Waite doesn't seem to shop in the Danish store. Any decent Polish youngster (and I mean top drawer Polish youngster) is going to be ring-fenced by his Polish club until he's 21, which leaves little scope for a Premier League sojourn, unless you're very crafty with your fixture compiling. And by the time they're released from the ring-fencing, they're more or less ready for the Elite League. This leaves, more or less, the slightly older Polish riders being squeezed out of Polish clubs. Now these riders, as Michal Rajkowksi has shown, are not without merit, but they're unlikely to be coveted by senior clubs.

I saw him too, and very impressive he was too - in fact he became the 'fans favourite' over the course of the meeting. Regarding his British career, I think that is already pledged to Newport and he's working in the area in preparation for next season.

After all, Newport's averages must be low enough to accommodate him for one of their lower riders. Bringing him in next year will surely entail an 8 point average, while bringing him in now might see him gain a lower average and give them more scope in team building next season.

Marek Mroz would double the crowd at Shielfield . The man is a born entertainer . Any rider who smacks into the Newport safety fence , face first , then gets up and waves to the crowd has got star written all over him . Seriously - any team who gives Marek a chance will have a cult hero on an unprecendented scale . His first meeting in Britain , in fact his first ride in Britain , he scared the shit out of Andre Compton and then for the rest of the afternoon he mixed it with the best the Welsh Open had to offer . But his " get out of my way shove " on Compton signaled the arrival of a star . ;D
