Looks like the weather is set fair for Saturday evening's encounter between the cruel, crazy town and those French types from the Isle of Wight. From a personal point of view, that's a bit of a shame, since I'll be over in Barbaria guiding ssamyarse and his good lady wife through their first live meeting over in Workington, which means I'll miss out on seeing Chris Holder in action. But the good news for everyone else is that Shielfield Park will be a Mongol free zone on Saturday. And I could be missing an absolute cracker of a meeting. The Isle of Wight are having a super season and will no doubt provide a stern test for the Bandits. Last season the Islanders won their fixture at Berwick in somewhat controversial circumstances, with the Bandits being minus suspended No 1 Stanislaw Burza. Chris Holder was sensational in that meeting. And he's improved since then. So his duels with Berwick's Polish contingent, lead, as ever, by the Weird Wonder, and Michal Makovsky should be eagerly anticipated. I think the Bandits will just sneak home for a win, but anyone not firing for them and the Islanders will take it.

And me too will miss this fixture, in fact no speedway this weekend for GM. Prior engagement.
Sub, you will miss out on seeing the lovely, young lady tonight as she is making a trip to the cruel, crazy, town.
