I have more or less finished the original painting which I actually started last November, but I just got back to it in the past two weeks. I also seldom paint riders in team colours, but as it is Mark, it just seemed right on this occasion. I would be happy to make it available as a limited edition print of 150, if there was sufficient interest of say at least 30 or so prints. You can email me on jim_blanchard@hotmail.co.uk. Thanks. (What do you reckon for my next subject Schumi? Lewis Hamilton.)

If I were to pick someone photogenic I'd have to say Kovalainen, but going on current favourites, the Pole, Robert Kubica. But if you could stick whoever it is in a Ferrari that would be great. Have you ever done a Schumacher?

Have you ever done a Schumacher? You don't know how hard it is for me to restrain myself at this point, Schumi...

I went back and put an "a" in there for you, genghis. It was originally going to be plain "done Schumacher". ;D

Have you ever done a Schumacher? I knew what you meant. I would say at least half a dozen times. Not very good photo of my painting but it was from a very wet Silverstone I think; Also, completed at least 8 Gilles Villeneuve in a Ferrari examples too. Have not got any now, so they have all been sold.

That's a great picture, Jim. What year was it? Can't say I remember that helmet.

Yes, I kind of worked that bit out for myself. He's always had the stars, just don't remember the predominance of the white.

Just checked my Autocourse annual and it looks like British GP, Silverstone 1998.

Thanks Jim (and genghis - although I'm surprised, given the driver, conditions and the race, you haven't mentioned Coulthard yet.) Anyway, sorry for hi-jacking your thread, and good luck with the Mark Loram print.

Eddie Irvine seems to have a very similar style crash helmet, but he has a red flash over the top and Michael has blue. It maybe looks a lot of white schumi as I think at the front they both had the Marlborough logo but with no writing as such. There were little stars on top. Hope that helps. (No bother- kept it up top for a while )

Thanks Jim (and genghis - although I'm surprised, given the driver, conditions and the race, you haven't mentioned Coulthard yet.) I thought I was very restrained, Schumi. Especially if it's the same year as that other well-known wet race...
