On Wednesday next week one of my oldest school mates from more than 40 years ago who has lived in NZ for 30 years or more will come to visit me with his American lady friend.
He was over and stayed with us a couple of years ago but early this year he was almost wiped out in the North Island in NZ by a camper van hitting him head on when he was out on his Harley motorcycle. He has had to endure lots of pain, and physical therapy. I am not sure what state he will be when he gets here.
He is not so much a speedway fan as a bloody good mate of mine.
Do you think that the speedway fraternity or should I saw the WWOS forum can greet him for me in their own special way. I'll log him on and then make him a member. Lets give a special speedway welcome to part of my history and a very special mate..

So then Keith, Jim tells me you like a drop of whiskey and you've known him for over 40 years............
You have my deepest sympathy, and if I were in that predicament and faced with the prospect of actually staying with the old bastard, I'd be knocking back a bottle before breakfast! ;D
Welcome to the Weird World dude, enjoy your stay!!!

Jim, I know enough about you to last me a lifetime, I'm not sure I can deal with any more! ;D Sorry, Should I go into retirement then now Ian? I was going to ask the boss or Schumi, if I could start my own column on here. 'Jimmy's Jottings' perhaps... Even Keith would laugh at that. (I made him laugh yesterday...) Anyway, you tell him he will be on soon...

You can do whatever you like, you know that. Anyway, hello young Keith and welcome to the Weird World (well, when you eventually arrive, of course - let's not put the horse too far in front of the cart). I hope that you'll have fun at our little forum on the edge of insanity.

Hey, I'm Keith From New Zealand - Jimmy's friend. We used to go to New Cross Speedway and Brands Hatch when we were lads. Jim was a great rider of motor cycles, could make that bike talk. For my sins I now ride a Harley, go to Sturgis and just been to the Hollister rally in the US. Did the head on with a camper van 6 months ago and it took me 3 months to get my legover again but I'm now firmly back in the saddle. We do have a bottle of whisky before breakfast........it's true. Cheers.....k
