James Brundle has been sacked by the KL promotion and Adam Allott returns to fill his boots at Number 6.
Brundle will take his place in the team down on the IOW in the KOCup semi tomorrow night as the BSPA required 3 days notice for changing the team. Allott will take his first ride Weds night against Workington.
Other changes included Chris Mills moving to No 5, Paul Lee to No 2 and Trevor Harding back to No 4.

My apologies for not knowing as much as perhaps I should about PL speedway, so for that reason I'll leave it to the more knowledgable KL fans to comment on the team changes, but it makes a change to hear a happy ending about a rider making a comeback after being told he'll never ride again. Good news for Adam.

While it's good to see Adam Allot ( the ultimate one track pony ) back on the bike after his serious injury , it is very hard on James Brundle . Both times Kings Lynn have been at Glasgow this season , Brundle has rode really well - easily outscoring Trevor Harding who frankly was a waste of space .

As I've posted elsewhere on this forum, his sacking had nothing to do with his riding.

Not only that but they expect Brundle to perform for them tomorrow at the IOW. erm, expect a guest ... SL, if you were my boss and we were having a meeting about how things were going and how things could be improved, and i told you to 'fuck off you wanker', what would you do? if i had been acting like a kid and saying things behind people's backs and really bringing the rest of the team down with the attitiude, and then told you to 'fuck off you wanker', it would make things easier wouldn't it? now i'm no fan of Allott, and i was warming to Brundle, but it's interesting to find out some of the things that have gone on.

Good news for Adam. As I recall Schumi, Allott was advised not to ride again because on knock could mean he would never walk again. I sincerely hope for his sake that it does have a happy ending and he doesn't take any more knocks. I've said my piece about the method of sacking elsewhere.

Obviously we are not privy to all that you are Steve but probably says more about 'the management' than young Brundle if that was his response - what was the question? To my mind he has done all and more than was expected on the track (remember he was brought in as a second reserve to John Oliver but since John's injury has really upped his performances to become one of the better reserves in the PL this season). I think there is still an element within Lynn who are 'anti' James with quotes like 'tailed off' coming out again after Wednesday (quite what he is supposed to do when his 'senior' team mates are directly in front of him and clearly going nowhere heaven only knows!) My views are the same as SL's on Adam, we heard doctors had warned him not to return and to be fair that was probably the best for both him and speedway Given how one or two of the top five have performed in the last couple of months (and riding position is no excuse for consistently dire performances) I think James has been made the scapegoat for fans wanting changes before the playoffs

i would agree to a certain degree ... i was expecting changes, but i thought it was going to be elsewhere i.e in the main body of the team. have to say the decision was a complete bolt out of the blue, and given some performances this year by James, i thought he was one of the 'safe' riders. but then i don't make the decisions, i don't see what goes on day to day with any of the riders (although i do get to hear things) and i certainly don't pay the wages.
if your employer isn't happy with you though, for whatever reason, you become unsafe and a possible target.
with regards to Allott ... i have serious reservations there. first of all, with his injury, he won't be in the right frame of mind for racing and mixing it. something like that will be playing on the mind, whether you accept it or not.
secondly, with the frame of mind he's in, will he be the gater that we've seen previously, and if he isn't, we know what he can (or can't) do when behind. i think this is a massive gamble bearing in mind KL still have to go away from home in the play-offs, it's not just a home leg.
