Great stuff from Nicki, just a shame Davey couldn't join him on the podium, but still great from Davey to make the final.
Well done to all the riders on a good night of speedway......eventually.

Well done Nicki Pedersen - deserved winner on the night . Awwww. And thanks for the updates Paul. Well he was the best rider on view by quite a distance , and i enjoyed doing the updates . Although they got quite difficult towards the end when i got bombarded with questions about fractions and percentages as my 12 year old's homework jotter landed on the keyboard

In all seriousness though this meeting is long past it's sell by date . At one time only the World final was more important than the BLRC , now it's just another run-of-the mill open meeting that half the field can't be bothered turning up for .

Maybe give a wildcard to the GP to the winner ,or next down the line as an incentive. They already do that with the British Final . That saved the British Final cause it was dying on it's arse , but this meeting is well beyond saving .

Where were the other Brits then. I don't count Chris "Oh, he has fallen at the back, oh bollocks why has he got the same helmet colour on as me" Mills in that. Louis and Subes mate were their usual bollocks. 3 and a half Brits in the meeting, may as well call it the fucking overseas final.

3 and a half Brits in the meeting, may as well call it the fucking overseas final. So that would be.... 1 Chris Louis, 2 Chris Harris, 3 Chris Mills and ½ Scott Nicholls? Yeah thought so. Poor Scotty, didn't even make the semi's this time round. ;D
Great win by Nicki P, nice touch to allow team mate Davey through in Heat 20 to make the semi's ;D ;D

Which wouldn't be the worst thing, I think its a total farce that riders like Watt and Holder get no recognition for there efforts through out the GP year, purely based on the fact they wouldn't " sell tickets ", I would rather see Holder in a GP as a Wild Card then Carpanese or Tesari any way

considering this meeting was a joke, the funniest line has to go to Nicki P, for saying that he was worried about Chris, Davey and Leigh being "up his bum" in the final...oh I did larf ;D ;D Edit; and the wonderful pisstaking of Pearson by Floppy Norris. That was good too.

Would agree with this, the GP riders weren't the problem last night. Crump was injured and Zagar unavailable through what seems to be a genuine fixture clash. Out of interest, what was the prize for winning the event? It seems sad but if the incentive isn't there riders may not view it as an important event. At one time when club loyalty existed maybe riders looked upon it as something they could win for the fans of their team, but now when any of them could be at any track next season maybe the connection isn't there as it once was? Predictability wise, it can't have been too different in the past. Barry Briggs won the event 6 years in a row in its early days, for example. It strikes me sometimes that not too much has changed over the years but the good old days were always better, but that's a different conversation.

of course it was a shame to see so many riders drop out,but with the modern demands of speedway, that is only to be expected So it's perfectly okay then to stage a supposedly prestigious meeting with half the advertised riders missing? If the riders have other commitments/can't be bothered, then what's the point in staging the event in the first place? was it ever any different in the past? Yes
