What can I say about the Stars 2007 team, I was well disappointed to lose Kevin Doolan and Troy Batchelor from last year's team but pleased to say that the pair of them are doing pretty well for their new EL teams.
So with Paul Lee and James Brundle in replacement of those two, the team is doing a fantastic job so far, obviously John Oliver's injury was a huge blow, but nearly every member of the team is riding above what was expected and with suitable guests for John, the team have adequately covered for him so far.
Must say that our team manager, Rob Lyon, has to take some of the plaudits for the team doing so well, his record so far speaks for itself and he seems to instill togetherness into the team. The sponsors the club and riders have on board are treated well and by the looks of it take a huge interest in the team. Together with the enthusiasm of the management and the fans things couldn't be much better at Lynn.
Nobody knows yet who they will sign in John's place although they have given a few riders outings, latest being Nicki Glanz, the half danish, half english rider! Of course they have the perfect replacement right on the doorstep, or rather right on Trevor Harding's doorstep, in Mark Jones, but of course he's saddled with a 7 point average as he's a full blown aussie ... tch!
So the Stars are through to the PT semis and have had the first leg against Glasgow at home, a hard fought match which ended in a 16 point lead to the Stars. Special mention to Parks who was untouchable and ended up with a 19 point haul!
Today we've seen our local derby PL match against Mildenhall postponed so our next fix of racing will be on Wednesday against Berwick .................
