It seems that prior to a race in the Workington versus Birmingham fixture last night, the meeting presenter announced he had some good news and some bad news: the good news, Charles Wright would be taking the place of Carpanese; the bad news, Carpanese was withdrawing from the meeting with a dislocated shoulder. However, it seems a large minority of the crowd saw this as good news and good news, as a roof raising cheer echoed around Derwent Park. It looks like the Barbarians are getting a name for themselves for ignorance and thuggery - time for action, or are promoters so desperate for paying punters they'll let anyone in?

Had a glance and it looks as if one or two of the Sheffield riders weren't exactly well behaved either. No doubt the Workington crowd is a little troublesome, so surely there's no need for riders to goad them? I hope you're going to be taking care of jacques and cousteau next weekend - it's their first time among the barbarians.

The guy is a complete numptie and will never learn . And Jacques and Cousteau will be fine with me .

Sadly these occurences have become the norm now at Derwent Park . It is the only track in the league which i now don't allow my 12 year old daughter to accompany me . Sad really , as Speedway prides itself on being a family sport . I now no longer feel comfortable taking my family there .

time for action, or are promoters so desperate for paying punters they'll let anyone in? They ain't fussy at Mildenhall, they let Kevin Long in every week. ;D
