Sorry SS and Trees, but you are missing the point, the issue is not whether Lynn won it is the manner in which they cynically used (abused) the rules to manufacture a more favourable team line up for a cup semi final. The sport is in dire need of some integrity at the top and JC being pulling a stunt like this is hardly helping his cause. To many who viewed JC in a dim light it is more fuel to the fire and it may well have made some of those who supported him in the past think twice before they do so in the future. BUT the point is also that if Topinka had been his normal self and scored 13, and Schramm had been a normal reserve and scored 4, then not a word would have been said about his inclusion as it was all within the rules. if people can't take the management from ANY team using the rules to their own advantage then maybe they're watching the wrong sport, because this sort of thing happens all the time in EVERY sport.

But Steve I don't follow other sports. And before you say it, I know I barely follow speedway at present. One reason being, the way the rules are used and abused. Now if that's OK with you, fine. From what I've read on all sorts of threads on BSF and here, it's not fine with a lot for fans. Ive defended JC to all and sundry many times thinking maybe he is the start of something new and refreshing, but I'm begining to think he is just as bad as all the rest.

SL, read that bit above again. because it was within the rules, had what i said above happened, then people wouldn't have said a word. because Schramm scored highly, everybody now turns against the rules!! if Simon Lambert had scored double figures in the first leg at Kings Lynn for IOW, people would be saying what a great choice of guest (for your info he scored 4+2), but it seems because Kings Lynn made a good choice of guest they get slated.

Steve I've read it. I suggest you read my posts. Nowhere have I said what KL did was against the rules. Myself and several others were not happy before tapes up at the IOW, so it has nothing to do with how many Schramm scored. My first posts were on Sept 17th, the day before the match both on here (post 110 on FOTW 12) and on the KL forum, tho I didn't say much there but you can see the gist. They didn't mention Schramm simply because it wasn't public knowledge at that time that he would be riding on the IOW, altho I had been told he would and obviously I'd also been told Brundle wasn't riding. You may well be happy with the way speedway is run, I'm not and until Sub or Jive tell me to shut up I'll continue to say my piece.
