With Berwick and Glasgow struggling at the minute, it looks like the Northern section of the Premier Trophy is between the Monarchs and the Comets. And this coming Friday sees the Barbarians from West Cumbria descending on the Heathen capital, with the return meeting in Barbaria twenty-four hours later. I personally think Edinburgh are the stronger side, at the moment, with more real "track time" under their belts than Workington, so I think the Armadale meeting will see a fairly comfortable win for the Monarchs. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Nomark and Neiminen and maybe Stoney will score about 35 between them , but i dont see too many points coming from elsewhere . Monarchs should win by at least 10 points at home , and will run Workington pretty close in the return at Derwent Park .

Nomark and Neiminen and maybe Stoney will score about 35 between them. That's a tough ask, young fellow. I mean that trio scored 38 points for Workington tonight and that meant only two defeats at the hands of a Bandit. Even taking into consideration one of them taking a Tactical Ride, they'll be doing very well if they score 35 points at Armadale.

I could easily see Nermark going through the card and scoring a 15 point maximum . Kauko is more than capable of scoring 10 or 11 . While Stoney is clearly no where near the rider he was away from Derwent Park , he is still capable of scoring close to double figures . By the same token i cant see the other 4 scoring more than 4 or 5 between them .

We might be without Thomas over the weekend now. He jarred his back on Sunday and is struggling. On his current form R/R will make us stronger but it's never ideal to be a six man team.
I think we will win reasonably comfortably but Saturday night will be a different kettle of fish.

Am i correct in assuming everyone will be eligible to take a r/r ride ? With THJ riding at No 3, I think you're correct - all riders will be eligible to take rider replacement rides.

Yes that is correct.
In the short term it will be fine but we all really want Thomas to find his feet and show us what he is capable of.

And I wasn't far wrong. Monarchs did win by more than that. Quite a bit more in fact (56:37). No great surprise to me. Workington really are exposed in Hts 2, 8 and 14 - each and everyone of those presenting the Monarchs with a 5-1 heat advantage tonight. Had it not been for a superb 18 pointer from Nermark, the Comets would've been annihilated. For Edinburgh it was another case of solid performances all around, but one has to take into consideration the ineptitude of Workington's extremely long tail - still a good confidence builder for the Monarchs.
