Who's been a naughty boy then Derek ? From today's Daily Record - Bike Star Sneddon Banned From Driving Oct 18 2007 A SPEEDWAY ace was yesterday banned from driving for three years and fined £500. Edinburgh Monarchs' captain Derek Sneddon admitted failing to give breath specimens to police after his car was in an accident. The 25-year-old's not guilty pleas to careless driving and failing to give police his name and address were accepted. Fiscal depute Aidan Higgins told Falkirk Sheriff Court how cops called to a traffic accident had seen Sneddon parking his car. He had refused to give a breath sample and refused again when taken to Falkirk police station. Gordon Addison, defending, said Sneddon had been drinking with friends at a house in the area and had loaned his car to two pals. He said they had crashed and left it on the road with its engine running, adding: "Mr Sneddon decided to park the car off the road." Sheriff William Gallacher said he was "just persuaded" not to jail Sneddon, of Bo'ness, West Lothian. So will we see the Monarchs captain hitching outside the Stadium of Mince next season .

The 25-year-old's not guilty pleas to careless driving Always new Deek was a careless driver, the number of people he has put into the first bend at Armadale proves it. ;D

Not at all impressed with Derek Paulco I am very surprised you chose not to post the news on the Chatzone considering you started threads everywhere else. Scared are we?

From the Monarchs Chatzone:
An Apology
Derek has drawn up a statement which he has asked me to post:
Sorry. First of all to my family, my friends, sponsors, the team and most of all the fans.
In a moment of madness back in March I made a huge error of judgement and have since been punished by the courts. In no way do I condone my actions, I accept my punishment and have seen the error of my ways.
Speedway's been so good to me, it changed my life for the better, which is why I'm disappointed that the good name of speedway has been brought into this.
The situation occured in March, and since then I have had a good season, and had the honour of being asked to be the captain of the Edinburgh Monarchs. This is a role I have put my all into and I am really sorry for putting my position in jeopardy. I really do hope to continue to be the captain for the Monarchs, if not right now then once again in the future, as I have relished the role and have loved playing such a big part in the Monarchs team.
I wasn't the captain at the time of the incident, but being the captain of the side has really shown me the responsibilities that go with not only having such a title, but speedway in general.
Once again I apologise to everyone I have let down, I can't change what has happened, I can only look forward to rebuilding the trust with the fans, the team and everyone in Speedway.
Derek Sneddon.
