Unless I'm very much mistaken, it's only a couple of weeks until one of the highlights of the speedway season for the north of the country; the Keyline sponsored Scottish Open. Last season the Monarchs' promotion defied vandals to get the Scottish Open on and Berwick's Stanislaw Burza defied a high class field to win the event. No doubt Burza, a huge favourite with the Edinburgh faithful. But have the Edinburgh promotion announced any names for the meeting?

The draw is as follows: 1. Cameron Woodward, 2. George Stancl, 3. Kevin Doolan, 4. Daniel Nermark, 5. Tai Woffinden, 6. Stan Burza, 7. Kalle Katajisto, 8. Shane Parker, 9. Craig Watson, 10. Kai Laukkanen, 11. Matthew Wethers, 12, James Grieves, 13. Derek Sneddon, 14. Carl Stonehewer, 15. Lee Complin, 16. Andre Compton. It looks to me to be quite an impressive field. I'm not sure that his unpredictableness, the Burza, will be favourite to retain his title this year. You never know, though. I thought they might have invited back Ronnie Correy to let him show us what we have lost.

A very good field assembled there. I can't see Burza retaining his title. Hopefully a very good crowd will turn out.

I suppose I should've checked the Monarchs Chatzone before posting, but I can be a silly Billy from time to time. But I didn't miss the great man rolling back the years tonight. And I hope you didn't either. Magnificent performance from young Gollob.

I'll ignore that Merlin But seriously it's good to see Wato in the field as it will give him good track time before the more serious stuff on August 17th . ;D

That'll put paid to both Watson and Parker. I hear that the "messiah" has offered to prepare the Armadale track for the derby match free of charge! Doc Bridgett is currently checking out his bowser and tractor licence.

In that case we may stun the speedway world and offer Peter Carr a short term comeback . We shall also be organising a whip round amongst the Tigers faithful to enable George Stancl's father to come over and work on George's bikes on the run-up to this important meeting .

No use, your deviousness! JDC has been on to the home office to declare Mr Stancl senior as an undesirable alien (at least on a Friday night!). As for the great 'Motor' didn't you know he now rides for Sheffield under the alias 'Andre Compton'?

Who is going to win then? The person who can get round Armadale the quickest! Should be a good meeting. Hope Stan does well. Think the four riders in the final will be Nermark, Stonehewer, Stancl and Laukkanen. Going up specially for the meeting (no other reason to go to Armadale ;D), anyone else making the journey
