POOLE co-promoter Danny Ford is excited for the club’s prospects at a new level next season.
The Pirates have switched to the Championship in a move which allows them to revert to their traditional race-night, and are now busy with team-building plans after their acceptance into the league last week.
Ford said: “The switch of leagues allows us to restore Wednesday night racing and when you consider that nearly 40 per cent of the responses we had to our website survey categorically stated that the move to Thursday had an adverse effect on them being able to attend meetings, it is clear to see why we must operate on the right night.
“I hope that with the change in league, more opposition and some other changes we will be making during the course of the season the fans will be excited too.
“The adoption of a new league structure in the Championship is an interesting concept, and given that there has been a lot of public call for one big league with a north/south divide, then we could be finding ourselves in a potential forerunner of the future of the sport.”
