GLASGOW 1 The Messiah 2 Ross Brady - injured numptie 3 Trent Leverington 4 Mitchell Davey 5 Robert Ksiezak 6 Josh Grajczonek 7 Lee Dicken EDINBURGH 1 Ryan Fisher 2 Desperate Deek 3 Thomas Jonasson 4 William Lawson 5 Matthew Wethers 6 Ann Summers 7 Andrew Tully referee Peter Clarke So it's back , all the shite we spoke about all winter can be forgotten . Your favourite film / music / shite on the telly can be replaced by the smell of methanol / sticking two fingers up at desperate deek and getting shale in your pint . It's our usual starter against our pals from across the M8 , in the first of thirty seven meetings between the two clubs ( local derbies are good for the coffers aparently ) . Off course , no matter how improved the Monarchs look , good will triumph over evil and the spectacular spring trophy will remain in the Glasgow trophy room ( a cupboard at the end of the bar ) . Good luck to our new teenage Aussies as they try to recover the feeling in their fingers in time for Sunday's opener . Good luck to both the Tigers and the Monarchs ( seriously ) and lets see two Scottish teams up there challenging again . ;D

A few of the Glasgow riders decided it would be a good idea to try the indoor skiing at the Braehead arena ( near Glasgow ) this week . Anyway the upshot is Ross Brady broke his collar-bone , leaving us up shit creek as we canny used r/r because he hasn't raced a competative meeting for us yet . The numptie will probably be out for around a month , so should be back before the league campaign starts . So i assume we will have to go through the Premier Trophy campaign using CL wobblers .

Not so, Paulco, my fine feathered friend. Cheer up - all is not yet lost. The rules were changed last Wednesday and Glasgow can use R/R after all for the missing Ross the dross. You could now argue that Glasgow have been strengthened by Brady's enforced absence.

The sport gets ever more ridiculous. Why should Glasgow be allowed R/R to cover a rider suffering from what is manifestly not a speedway related injury?

Sub, what do you think about Berwick using a guest for a rider they haven't even signed, then? Are guests allowed for the invisible man?

If it were a bona fide fixture, rather than a season-opening nonentity of a meeting, I'd think it disgraceful. I don't mind Glasgow operating R/R for Mrs Brady in this silly contest, but once the serious business starts, no.

So it finished 41-49, not a good meeting for the messiah..but a great start for Josh Grajczonek though 10+3 from 6... Paulco is pig sick, so I've suggested a few beers to commiserate himself...
